The $1,200 move that became a $5,000 nightmare 👇
This happens every single week in Las Vegas. I've seen it hundreds of times. Here's exactly how the scam works step by step 🎰
Step 1: You get quotes 📋 You call 4 companies. Three quote you $2,800-$3,200 for a 3-bedroom move. One quotes $1,200. Your brain says "$1,800 in savings."
Step 2: You pick the cheap one 💸 No walkthrough. No inventory check. Just a number on the phone. A real company does a walkthrough — in person or virtual. If they gave you a number without seeing your stuff, that number is fiction.
Step 3: Move day arrives 🚛 No company name on the truck. Rented U-Haul. No branding. No logo. That means no accountability. Two guys show up 2 hours late.
Step 4: They start loading 📦 Fast. Careless. No furniture pads. No shrink wrap. No floor runners. They care about speed, not your stuff. Faster crew = more jobs per day = more revenue. Your walls are getting scratched before the truck is half full.
Step 5: Everything is loaded 🔒 Your entire life is on their truck. Now comes the call. "Actually, with stairs, long carry, packing materials, and heavy items it's $4,500." Once your stuff is on the truck, they own the negotiation. This is the oldest scam in moving. Load everything. Then hit you with extra charges. You pay or your stuff rides away.
Step 6: You pay 😤 What choice do you have? They have your furniture, your clothes, your kids' beds, your grandmother's china. You pay the $4,500 in cash. No receipt.
Step 7: Damage everywhere 💔 Couch torn. TV screen cracked. Dresser leg snapped. Walls gouged at both locations. You're trusting strangers inside your home because they answered an ad 6 hours ago.
Step 8: You call to complain 📵 Number disconnected. No license. No insurance. No recourse. Company closes in 6 months. Reopens under a new name. Runs the same scam again.
Total cost:
$4,500 cash to the scam company
$800 in property damage at both homes
$2,200 in damaged furniture replacement
Emotional cost: immeasurable
That $1,200 "deal" cost $7,500 💀
Your stuff is worth more than the $500 you're trying to save.
I built Muscle Movers because nobody should go through this 💪
