Southern NM 4x4 Club We are a family club, with friendly members that do all kinds of off-road wheeling. We promote the Tread Lightly concept.

The club has some of the best drivers in the country (and a few of the worst). We try to schedule trails runs with ratings from 1-10 to suit everybody's off-road appetite. Some of the easiest trails we have in this area will offer you the most spectacular views of southern NM! If you are a bit more adventurous and like the moderate to extreme trails, you will quickly discover some of the most technical and extreme rock crawling trails that bring people from all over the US to southern NM for our annual Chile Challenge. Our goal is 2 runs a month... so if you don't see something scheduled, and would be interested in leading, we would love to hear from you! Our trails have been rated in the top 10 4-wheel drive areas in the country. If you are in the area visiting or a local just wanting to hit the trails, feel free to send us an e-mail or text and we will put something together to suit your sense of adventure

Our trips are shown on the calendar and our meetings are the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Our meeting location is emailed out prior to the meeting. If you would like to be on the email list, please join the club. The due are 26.50 for a single membership and 36.50 for a family membership. Come early if you would like to join us for Dinner.

Hello peeps. I’m re- pre running “rattler “ a trail I’m leading for Chile Challenge, this Saturday to check for flood damage. We are meeting at “Area 51” Garfield exit 51, at 8 am this Saturday and will roll out around 8:30am. This is a level 5 trail with some medium sized ledges and some boulders. Nothing major atleast it wasn’t before the floods. Hope to see some of y’all there. Bring a shovel and or pick ax just in case. Larry Blevins. 575-649-0139

Today was a good day re - pre running two of the Chile Challenge trails after the big flood hit Garfield and rincon. Only one other 4x4 showed up to help me but the two of us and my passenger managed to run Rincon to Sparkys and Scratch back to back. It was an extremely long day but we winched several huge boulders and winched trees etc to get debris out of the way. Both trails had changed course in many places and had washed out in a few places. God willing and the creek don’t rise, they should be ready ( and interesting) for the CC. This coming Saturday I will try and run Rattler again. It’s always fun getting some seat time and exercise never hurts either. Larry B.

I will be re- pre running “Rincon to Sparkys” Chile challenge trail tomorrow, Saturday to see how damaged it is after the flood this week. Anyone is welcome to run with me. I have a key to the gate at the entrance that was previously locked. We will meet at the parking lot behind the antique store across from Sparkys in Hatch at 8 am and roll out around 8:30.
