Do you recognize “Duneagle Castle” from the Downtown Abbey Christmas special?

💐The gardens are absolutely stunning! Every photo I shot was just beautiful!

It has fairytale turrets with a stunning setting on the shores of Loch Fyne. The castle is one of Scotland’s most beautiful stately homes. It’s the ancestral seat of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of Clan Campbell, and the family still lives there today. In fact, they were getting ready to celebrate the birthday of the daughter of the Duke in the dining room that is in my photos! 🎂

🏰🌊 Discover the charming town of Inveraray! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

On the shores of beautiful Loch Fyne in Argyll, Inveraray is one of Scotland’s prettiest small towns. Its neat whitewashed buildings line the water’s edge. The town was purpose-built in the 18th century by the Dukes of Argyll when the original town blocked the view from the castle!. It’s a perfect slice of Georgian Scotland.

🛍️ Browse the independent shops and cafes along the Main Street
🏰Walk a short distance from the town and tour Inveraray Castle-scenes from Downtown Abbey were filmed there

Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Scotland's most-loved attractions. Set in a stunning red sandstone building beside Kelvingrove Park, it's packed with everything from fine art, history of Glascow to natural history. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

💙A cruise on Loch Lomond gives you sweeping views of mountains, wooded islands and quiet shores. It's the kind of scenery that makes you want to stay forever!

🏝️Glide past some of the loch's many islands, each with its own history and legends. One such legend is honeymoon island, pictured below. The couple was placed on the island for a week. If they survived the week, their marriage should last forever!!! 💍

Palace of Holyroodhouse👑🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

🏰At the foot of Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile stands the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of the monarch in Scotland. It's still a working royal palace today!
You can walk through the elegant State Apartments, still used for royal events and receptions.�Then, climb the winding stair to Mary, Queen of Scots' chambers, where her secretary David Rizzio was murdered in 1566. Afterwards, explore the atmospheric ruins of Holyrood Abbey, founded back in the 12th century⛪️. Then, stroll the palace gardens with Arthur's Seat rising up behind them⛰️.

Royal Yacht Britannia 👑⚓️

Another must see in Edinburgh that I highly recommend! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

For over 40 years, this floating palace carried Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family around the world. She sailed more than a million nautical miles, hosted presidents and film stars, and took royal couples away on honeymoon. Today she's berthed in Leith, Edinburgh and is a wonderful place to visit.

Your audio guide will allow you to discover the entire ship at your own pace! 🛳️

We also enjoyed lunch with tea and scones in the tearoom onboard the ship!

There are views above the water from the stone, 450 foot long Dean Bridge. Then, you can go below to stroll along the water before you cross over bridges in the village.
