Yesterday on the ramp at Laramie Regional Airport: N624BF, a 2022 Air Tractor AT-802A Fire Boss.

This single-engine turboprop is built for serious work, and with its float setup it can operate from both runways and water — making it a pretty impressive tool for firefighting and other specialized operations.

Aircraft like this are a great reminder that LAR is more than passenger service. We’re also a working airport supporting general aviation, business, and public service missions.

Sometimes the coolest aviation stories are sitting right out on the ramp.

Laramie Regional Airport is more than a place to catch a flight. It’s part of the community fabric here in Albany County, connecting families, supporting local businesses, welcoming visitors, and creating memories for kids and adults alike.

When you choose to fly local, you’re helping support a service that keeps Laramie connected to the rest of the country while strengthening our local economy right here at home.

We’re proud to serve this community, and we’re grateful for the continued support from the people of Laramie and beyond.

The WYFly Passport Program has landed at Laramie Regional Airport!

Created by WYDOT Aeronautics, this fun statewide challenge encourages pilots, aviation enthusiasts, road trippers, and curious explorers to visit Wyoming’s public-use airports, collect stamps, complete regional tasks, and discover the communities connected by aviation across the state.

LAR is proud to be one of the Southeast Wyoming stops, so next time you’re at the airport, look for the WYFly Passport Program visitor station and collect your Laramie stamp.

We can’t promise the stamp will improve your landing, but it will get you one step closer to completing the adventure.

Happy National Paper Airplane Day from Laramie Regional Airport!

We usually deal with slightly bigger aircraft around here, but today we’re making room for a little extra paper traffic. No gate assignment needed, just a good fold, a strong throw, and maybe a friendly reminder not to launch anything toward TSA.

Behind the scenes on the commercial apron this week. ✈️

Crews from Ardurra and Inberg-Miller Engineers were out on the commercial apron performing a soils investigation as part of the planning process for a future apron reconstruction project at Laramie Regional Airport.

Ardurra , which has a Cheyenne office, is leading the design work, while Cheyenne and Riverton based Inberg Miller Engineers is handling the geotechnical investigation.

The work happening now helps engineers better understand the ground conditions so the project can be properly designed before construction begins.

A lot of airport improvement work starts long before the concrete is ever poured, and today was one of those important first steps.

Thank you, Albany County.

We are incredibly grateful to our community for supporting the 6th Penny project and recognizing the important role Laramie Regional Airport plays in our region.

This $4 million investment will help fund critical airfield improvements, including runway and taxiway rehabilitation, pavement maintenance, commercial apron reconstruction, and ongoing infrastructure upkeep that helps keep the airport safe, reliable, and ready to serve the traveling public.

These local dollars also help us secure significantly larger state and federal grants, multiplying the long term impact of this investment for our community.

Thank you for continuing to support the future of air service, economic growth, and regional connectivity in Albany County.
