East Carroll Council on Aging

East Carroll Council on Aging Our Senior Center is located in East Carroll Parish in the Northeast corner of Louisiana. The East Carroll Voluntary Council on Aging was chartered in 1968.

Back in 1964, Governor John McKeithen signed into law an act to establish Parish Voluntary Councils on Aging. We are an independent entity with a staff of 7 and provide a great number of services with our emphasis on Priority Services which include Homemaker, Information & Assistance, Legal Aid, Outreach, Telephoning, Transportation and Visiting. Our funds are received from Federal and State funds

along with a parish millage. However, there is never sufficient funding to implement and strengthen the units of service which are budgeted each year. We are proud of the job our aging service has done in the past but we are cognizant of the hard work which still lies ahead. We are confident about the future and can look forward to a continuation of progress in making the retirement years all they should rightfully be. The Council, operating under a Volunteer Board of Directors, provides the following services to eligible participants of East Carroll Parish:

 *Congregate Meals
 *Home Delivered Meals
 *Transportation
 *Home maker
 *Health Screening
 *Information Reassurance
