Wow! Employee Retention Credit (ERC) is apparently for real. It took over six months in total to accomplish, but I just received six treasury checks totaling over $140,000.
This program is only available to businesses, not individuals, but if you maintained a Payroll through Covid, you can get a lot of that money back that you paid for payroll taxes using this program. There are lots of qualifications and hoops to jump through, but in the end, it turned out to be very worthwhile for me.
Watch out for scams because there’s a lot of them out there. Here’s a link to the company I used:

They require a ton of documentation, including profit and loss statements, bank statements, and payroll records. You will be vetted first by the company, then an outside CPA firm and then finally by an additional law firm then they will prepare amended 941s for you to submit, and 4 to 7 months later, assuming the IRS agrees that you qualify,… The checks start rolling in.

As I said, there are lots of scams out there, so due diligence is definitely required. Good luck!
