At Chennault International Airport, we proudly remember the legacy of General Claire Lee Chennault — a leader known for courage, innovation, and dedication to serving others. As we reflect on his legacy and the sacrifices of so many heroes, we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

Today, we honor their bravery, their service, and their enduring impact.

We thank the amazing aircraft that were the centerpiece of the NHS open house and tours today. The NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center WP-3D Orion, Beechcraft King Air, and the Air Force WC-130J from the Hurricane Hunters have departed Chennault after big local crowds and media coverage.

Join the Chennault team! We have job openings for a Mechanic and an Electrical HVAC Technician.
Here are details on the positions:
MECHANIC
Preferred qualifications:
• Knowledge of mechanical requirements applicable to maintenance operations.
• Knowledge of automotive techniques as they apply to industrial applications.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic controls related to heavy automotive applications.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines both industrial and commercial.
• Ability to perform mechanical duties of day to day maintenance.
• Ability to Support and Execute orders from Mechanic I and'or Supervisor.
• Ability to work in a safe and cooperative manner.

ELECTRICAL HVAC TECHNICIAN
Preferred qualifications:
• Considerable knowledge of HVAC, Compressors and Chiller Units and Controls.
• Considerable knowledge of the basic electrical requirements applicable to maintenance operations.
• Considerable knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
• Ability to safely perform HVAC and Electrical duties of day to day maintenance.
• Ability to perform work in a safe and cooperative manner.

Training and experience:
• Has received a license in HVAC from an accredited Vocational/Technology Institute.
• Journeyman Electrician and or HVAC classification or degree in Electrical/HVAC Technology acceptable.
• At least five years of experience in the Air Conditioning and Heating Field.
