This may be a hot take, but I said what I said šŸ˜‚Not everyone can afford to add Lightning Lane to their park budget, and honestly, thatā€™s totally okay. There are plenty of times of year and certain park days where I wouldnā€™t even recommend spending the extra money on it, But when I DO use Lightning Lane, the thing I love most about it actually has nothing to do with skipping lines. It lets me slow down. I already know I have the rides I really want to do planned out, so Iā€™m not spending the entire day thinking, ā€œCrap, we still have to get on that ride.ā€
Instead, I can grab some food, explore, take pictures, hang out with my family or friends, enjoy the atmosphere, or just wander around the park without feeling like Iā€™m constantly racing the clock, And THAT, to me, is where Lightning Lane can be worth it. Itā€™s not something everyone needs. Itā€™s not something Iā€™d automatically add to every trip. But when it makes sense for your trip and your budget, it can completely change the way you experience the park.

ā€œCan we stay off property at Universal?ā€

Absolutely not. šŸ˜‚

Okay, maybe that sounds a little aggressive. But thereā€™s a reason I push back on this with clients. Off-property hotels can look cheaper at first glance, but you have to compare the entire vacation, not just the nightly room rate.

When you stay at a Universal Orlando hotel, you may be getting things that change the math:

ā€¢ Early Park Admission
ā€¢ Easy transportation to the parks
ā€¢ The ability to stay inside the Universal bubble
ā€¢ Resort amenities and theming
ā€¢ More time in the parks because you arenā€™t dealing with outside transportation

Does that mean everyone should stay on property? Nope.

There are absolutely situations where staying off property makes sense. My job isnā€™t to automatically put you in a Universal hotel. Itā€™s to look at your dates, budget, group, tickets, transportation and priorities and figure out what actually gives you the best value.

Because the cheapest hotel isnā€™t always the cheapest vacation.

And yes, sometimes the correct professional response really is:

ā€œAbsolutely not.ā€ šŸ˜‚
