Did you know Disney resorts have little activities like this?! 🐿️✨

I spotted this adorable Chip & Dale photo prop at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and I LOVE little extras like this!

The idea is simple! Find the photo prop hidden somewhere around the resort, snap a picture with it, and bring your photo to the front desk to collect a special button!

It’s such a cute little activity for the kids (or adults, because let's be real, I'd do it too 😂), and it gives you another reason to slow down and explore your resort!

It's little things like this that make staying at a Disney resort so much fun. There's so much more to do than just sleep between park days!

Hot take: waiting 75+ minutes for a ride is not where its at.

I know nobody loves paying extra to get in the “faster” line.

I don’t love spending more money than I have to either.

But I also know most families did not spend thousands of dollars on a Disney vacation just to stand in line all day, ride three things, and leave feeling like they barely scratched the surface.

If you go to Disney multiple times a year, maybe you skip Lightning Lane.

But if this is your first trip, your once-in-a-lifetime trip, your child’s first trip, or the big family trip with grandparents?

Work it into the budget.

For my family, Lightning Lane is part of the cost of the trip.

Because I am not standing in line for 1.5 hours for Guardians of the Galaxy…

But I am also absolutely not skipping Guardians of the Galaxy. 😂

There are plenty of ways to save money at Disney.

Pack snacks. Skip the matching outfits. Do quick-service meals. Choose the resort that actually fits your family. Travel during a lower-priced time.

But for a lot of families, Lightning Lane is one of those things that can make the trip smoother, less stressful, and more enjoyable.

The goal is not to buy every Disney extra.

The goal is to spend where it actually improves your trip.

If I could stop first-time Disney guests from making ONE mistake, it would be this…

Adding Park Hopper tickets just because you think you’re supposed to.

For first-time Disney families, I usually do not think Park Hopper is where your money needs to go.

There is so much to see and do in each park that you can easily spend a full day there and still not do everything.

And when you have never done Disney before, hopping from park to park can be more stressful and time-consuming than people realize.

You have to leave the park. Get transportation. Go through security again. Get into the next park. Figure out where you are. And somehow keep everyone happy in the process.

That time might be better spent going back to your resort for a midday break, swimming, resting, and then returning to the same park later.

Plus, adding Park Hopper to a multi-day trip can really add up.

For some families, it makes sense.

But for most first-time Disney guests, I would rather see you slow down, enjoy one park per day, and use that extra money somewhere that actually makes the trip easier.

Like Lightning Lane. A better resort fit. Airport transportation. Or even just breathing room in the budget.

Disney is already a lot.

You do not have to make it more complicated on your first trip.

This is the kind of thing I help families figure out before they spend extra money on things they may not actually need.
