🏰✨ HAPPY 55TH BIRTHDAY, WALT DISNEY WORLD! ✨🏰

55 YEARS AGO TODAY — October 1, 1971 — Walt Disney World officially opened its gates in Florida. ❤️

At the time, Walt Disney World looked VERY different from the vacation destination we know today.

There was one theme park: Magic Kingdom.

And from that beginning grew an entire vacation destination filled with theme parks, resorts, restaurants, entertainment and millions upon millions of family memories.

But one of my favorite parts of Disney’s 55th anniversary celebration isn’t an attraction or a piece of merchandise…

❤️ Two Cast Members who helped open Walt Disney World in 1971 are STILL making magic there today.

Disney introduced us to Frank, who works with Disney Live Entertainment, and Earliene, a merchandise hostess at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Both welcomed guests during Walt Disney World’s opening year—and 55 years later, they’re still part of the magic. 🥹

Disney has also released a special 55th Anniversary Collection with commemorative ears, apparel, a Mickey plush, mugs, tumblers and more.

It’s incredible to think about how much Walt Disney World has changed since 1971…and how many family traditions have started there along the way.

For me, that’s really what Disney vacations are about.

The rides are fun.
The food is fun.
The resorts are beautiful.

But years later, what you actually keep are the memories of who you experienced it with. ❤️

So today, here’s to 55 years of Walt Disney World—and the generations of families who have made memories there.

There’s something about Santorini that feels almost unreal — whitewashed villages spilling down volcanic cliffs, blue-domed churches, incredible Mediterranean food and sunsets that make everyone stop what they’re doing. 💙

But here’s the thing: Santorini is even better when you plan beyond the famous photo spots.

🌅 Have dinner overlooking the caldera as the sun goes down
⛵ Spend a day sailing around the island and volcanic coastline
🍷 Visit local w**eries and taste w**es grown in Santorini’s volcanic soil
🏖️ Explore the island’s unique beaches
🍅 Take a Greek cooking class or food tour
🤍 Wander through smaller villages away from the busiest areas
🏨 Splurge on a hotel with a private terrace or plunge pool for part of your stay

✨ TRAVEL TIP: You also don’t have to make Santorini your entire Greece vacation. Pair a few nights here with another Greek island — or combine it with Athens — for a trip with a completely different feel from one stop to the next.

🚨🚢✨ HUGE DISNEY CRUISE LINE NEWS IS COMING! ✨🚢🚨

If a Disney Cruise is on your future vacation list, mark your calendars because Disney is about to reveal MUCH more about its newest ship!

✨ THE DISNEY BELIEVE ✨

Disney has officially announced a special livestream for:

📅 Wednesday, October 7
⏰ 4:30 PM ET

And this isn’t just another construction update.

Disney says we’re finally getting details about:

⚓ The Disney Believe’s HOMEPORT
🗺️ Its first ITINERARIES
🍽️ New onboard venues
🎭 Entertainment
✨ And MORE details about Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship!

The Disney Believe is expected to make its debut in late 2027 and will become the newest addition to Disney Cruise Line’s rapidly growing fleet.

We already know a few pretty incredible details…

🌊 Guests will enter a Moana-inspired Grand Hall, complete with a bronze statue of Moana alongside Pua and Hei Hei.

✨ Tinker Bell will grace the bow of the ship.

🚀 Woody & Buzz Lightyear will appear on the stern—with crayons in hand and a playful twist on the traditional Disney Cruise Line ship lettering!

And the entire ship is being designed around the idea of promise and possibility, bringing stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars to sea in new ways. ❤️

But the BIG question is…

🌎 WHERE WILL SHE SAIL?!

We’re finally going to find out October 7!

🚨🚂 A CLASSIC MAGIC KINGDOM ATTRACTION CLOSES TODAY! 🚂🚨

If you have a Walt Disney World trip coming up, here’s one you’ll want to know about!

The Walt Disney World Railroad officially closes TODAY, September 28, for a temporary refurbishment.

Disney currently says the railroad is expected to return in November 2026, although an exact reopening date has not yet been announced. 🗓️

And this closure is especially noteworthy because…

🏰 Magic Kingdom celebrates its 55th anniversary THIS WEEK on October 1!

The Walt Disney World Railroad is an opening-day Magic Kingdom attraction, making this one of those classic pieces of Disney history that has been part of the park since 1971. ❤️

It also has a very special connection to Walt himself.

🚂 Walt Disney absolutely loved trains. He even built his own miniature steam railroad—the Carolwood Pacific Railroad—in his backyard before bringing that passion into the Disney parks.

So if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom over the next several weeks, don’t be surprised when you don’t hear that familiar whistle coming from Main Street! 🚂🏰

Disney World has officially revealed its Halloween eats for 2026 — and there are SO many new things coming to the parks! 👻✨

A few that immediately caught my attention:

😈 Maleficent Funnel Cake — chocolate funnel cake with shimmer, ube & matcha icing, vanilla soft-serve and chocolate horns at Hollywood Studios

🍪 Boneyard Cookies & Scream Sundae — cookies ’n cream ice cream, chocolate popping crumbs, cookie, sugar bone, pumpkin candy and Halloween sprinkles at Animal Kingdom

🍬 Candy Corn Pop — spiced cheesecake with apple butter swirl and brown-butter graham crackers dipped in white chocolate

🍰 Phantom Pecan-Caramel Cheesecake — layers of New York and caramel cheesecake with dulce de leche, chocolate ganache and pecans at Magic Kingdom

🍎 PLUS Halloween caramel apples, cereal treats, cupcakes, pumpkin treats, specialty drinks and SO much more!

🧛🐭 The light-up Vampire Mickey popcorn bucket is coming to ALL FOUR Disney World parks while supplies last!

Some of the new Animal Kingdom offerings arrive October 1, while Disney’s Halloween food celebration continues through October 31. 🎃

This is one of my favorite parts of visiting Disney during a holiday season — there are always limited-time treats and experiences that you simply won’t find during the rest of the year.

Japan is one of those trips where you can experience ancient traditions, futuristic cities, incredible food and breathtaking scenery all in one vacation. ❤️

And you definitely don’t have to stay in just one place:

Want turquoise Caribbean water and cenotes? Head to the Riviera Maya. Prefer dramatic desert-meets-ocean scenery and luxury resorts? Cabo San Lucas may be your match. Looking for beaches mixed with cobblestone streets, great dining and local character? Consider Puerto Vallarta. 🇲🇽

🏖️ Riviera Maya — all-inclusive resorts, cenotes, snorkeling & Mayan ruins
🌅 Los Cabos — luxury resorts, desert landscapes & incredible sunsets
