The maritime heritage of the Cayman Islands is rich with an honored past.
Few years back I had the privilege to interview Gerry Kirkconnell. Behind his desk and on the wall is photo of The famous Kirk B. This was Gerry’s Father’s ship the Kirk B (short for kirk brothers) Gerry pulled out a Cayman quarter and told me many folks have no idea that my father’s ship is on this coin! Later a stamp was produced! I learned a lot that morning about Cayman Brac.
The schooner was built by R.B. Leitch and owned by R.B. Kirk Connell & Bros.
It was built in Cayman Brac, Launched in 1929 and registered in 1931 by registrar Tm.McField.
The KIRK B transported freight from Jamaica to Cayman Brac.

David asked me if I knew those ladies? I said Nope they were Cayman Kind and I celebrated in their Sea Fan finds! Davis just shakes his head and moves on😍Many folks enjoy shelling and walking the beach after a Storm. You find the best sea shells and sea fans!
