🇨🇭 Day 10 – Our last day in Europe!

We headed to Lucerne, and what an amazing city! Sitting right on beautiful Lake Lucerne with the mountains all around, it was absolutely gorgeous. We only had a few hours to explore, and it was definitely not enough time.

Lucerne is one of those places that immediately makes you wish you had planned a few extra days. Beautiful streets, the lake, the scenery… I loved it all. This is definitely a place I need to come back to and spend more time exploring!

From there, we continued on to Zurich, where we spent our final night before flying home.

And what better way to finish our vacation than with one last dinner of Swiss fondue? So yummy! 🫕🇨🇭

And just like that, another amazing European adventure comes to an end. ❤️✈️

🇨🇭 Day 9 Interlaken to Brienz and up the mountain! 🚂🏔️

Today we headed to Brienz, the cutest little Swiss town, where we started our next train adventure! We boarded the historic steam train and made our way up the mountain to almost 2,500 meters.

The ride itself was absolutely beautiful, with incredible scenery as we climbed higher and higher. Unfortunately, once we reached the top, the fog was so thick that those amazing mountain and lake views we were supposed to see were completely hidden.

But you can’t change Mother Nature! We still had gorgeous views along the way up and back down, and riding a steam train through the Swiss mountains was an experience all by itself. 🚂🏔️❤️

🚂🇨🇭 Day 8 Glacier Express!

Today we boarded the Glacier Express and continued our journey through Switzerland! 🇨🇭 The plan was to ride to Andermatt, spend a little time exploring and grab some lunch, but Mother Nature had other plans. We arrived to cold, rainy, foggy weather, so we decided to keep moving and head straight to our next stop, Interlaken!

Even with the fog and rain along parts of the journey, we still enjoyed some absolutely beautiful views from the train. And when the weather doesn’t cooperate… you make your own fun! 🥂😂

So, naturally, we had our own little mimosa party on the Glacier Express! Because beautiful Swiss scenery + mimosas = still a pretty great day! 🥂🚂🏔️

Day 7 Part 3 🚂🏔️🇨🇭

Today we traveled from Tirano to St. Moritz on the first section of the Bernina Express and WOW… the views were incredible!

Every turn seemed to bring another amazing scene — mountains, valleys, lakes, waterfalls… it was nonstop beauty. The Bernina Railway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and now that I’ve experienced it, I can absolutely see why.

Then we arrived in St. Moritz, and what a beautiful little gem! The town sits right along the lake, and the whole setting is just gorgeous. 😍

Tomorrow, the train adventure continues! We’ll finish the Bernina route, connect with the Glacier Express, and make our way to Lucerne for the final two nights of our tour. 🚂🏔️❤️

Day 7 Part 2 🇮🇹❤️

Today was such an amazing day that it definitely deserves multiple posts!

The drive to Tirano was absolutely beautiful, with incredible mountain scenery the entire way. Once there, we visited the beautiful Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tirano, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. The church was absolutely stunning and such a special place to visit.

After lunch, it was time for something I had really been looking forward to… boarding the Bernina Express! 🚂🏔️

What an experience!! The scenery was unbelievable from beginning to end. Honestly, this train ride deserves its very own post…and LOTS of pictures. 😂

🇮🇹➡️🇨🇭 Day 7 – Part 1

Today we are saying goodbye to Italy and making our way toward Switzerland! 🇨🇭

We’re driving through the beautiful mountains and made a short stop in Edolo, a charming little mountain town surrounded by incredible scenery.

The drive itself is already part of the experience, mountains, winding roads, and gorgeous views everywhere you look. 🏔️❤️

Day 6 🇮🇹

Today was such a fun day exploring the Lombardy region of Italy and the beautiful Franciacorta area, famous for producing Italy’s sparkling wine, the Italian “champagne,” although it can’t officially be called champagne because true Champagne only comes from the Champagne region of France.

We visited an amazing agriturismo winery, where we enjoyed a fun cooking class and learned how to make stuffed tomatoes, zucchini pies, delicious fresh pasta, and tiramisu. Of course, the best part was sitting down afterward to enjoy everything we made, perfectly paired with delicious Franciacorta wine.

Needless to say, we left as some very stuffed puppies—with happy hearts, tipsy bodies, and very full tummies! ❤️🍾🇮🇹

Day 5 🇮🇹

Today we left Sirmione and made our way to beautiful Lake Iseo. We hopped on a boat and cruised around Monte Isola, the large island right in the middle of the lake. We had a few hours there to walk around, explore, grab some lunch, and just enjoy the scenery.

Afterward, we got back on the road and headed to our next stop, Pisogne, a quaint little town on the northern shore of Lake Iseo. We finished the night watching the beautiful sunset in Pisogne.

Day 4 🇮🇹

Today started with a visit to a Grana Padano cheese factory, where we learned all about how the cheese is made. It’s very similar to Parmigiano Reggiano, but because it’s produced in a different region, it can’t carry the Parmigiano Reggiano name. And of course, the best part was getting to taste it! 😋 They also served us an amazing lunch afterward.

From there, we visited the cutest little town of Borghetto, before heading back to Sirmione.

We finished the day with a boat tour around Lake Garda, some swim time, and a great dinner right by the lake. 🛥️💦🍷

Another beautiful day in Italy! 🇮🇹❤️
