terminal at Lafayette Regional Airport saw its last passengers depart and arrive and closed its doors for good. The terminal served the community for over six decades. The New LFT Terminal opened its doors to the public for the first time in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 20.

This morning, Lafayette Regional Airport was honored to welcome Mr. Prigeon Fontenot, Sr., a World War II veteran, as he departed for Normandy, France. He’ll join 24 fellow veterans to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.

The Best Defense Foundation and Delta Air Lines are sending these living heroes on this journey to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice on June 6, 1944. We are grateful to have been part of his send-off from LFT.
