The Pass is icy and snow packed in spots this morning as our storm gets underway. Snow should pick up in coverage and intensity as we go throughout the day. Be careful if you have to be out on the roads today!

We have been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning, with 10-17" of snow expected over the Pass. Expect difficult travel conditions and possible road closures during the day on Wednesday!

Expect snow to pick up in intensity late tonight and continuing through much of the day tomorrow. Excited for the first legitimate snow of the season!

Near normal temperatures and dry conditions are expected on our plains today, with snow beginning over the central mountains later this morning. Snow spreads across the high country throughout the day today, moving into the Pikes Peak region late this evening. Snowfall rates increase after midnight for all areas. Winter Weather Advisories begin at 2 AM for Teller and northern El Paso counties, and at 8 AM for the rest of the I-25 corridor, the Sangres, the Wets, Heurfano, and western Las Animas counties. Travel impacts will be possible for all mentioned areas beginning tonight, and persisting through Wednesday night. Please use caution on area roadways!

After a seemingly endless stretch of warm, dry, and breezy conditions on the Pass, we finally received our first official snowfall of the year! It wasn't much but it was nice to finally see a little bit of white draped across the landscape. Road surfaces were mostly unaffected, as the ground is still holding quite a bit of warmth given the temps in recent days.

Another system looks to swing through the region starting on Thursday with impacts possibly extending into Friday AM. At this point, it doesn't look like a huge system, however, it does have a bit more moisture to work with and has the potential to deliver at least a few inches across the higher elevations of the Hwy 160 corridor. I will continue to monitor the upcoming system and pass along updates as needed. Stay tuned!
