Christmas Eve 2013 at Paulina's (Newberry Crater) 10 mile parking lot taken by Debbie Sidwell. Couldn't help but thinking of the Star of Bethlehem and singing Away in a Manger. Have a blessed New Year!

Phyllis Jones took this lovely photo looking out across that little bridge going into town, where Dorrence Meadow crosses Little Deschutes River. This bridge is about about 2 miles from our East Exit. Thank you for sharing Phyllis. Merry Christmas everyone!

La Pine is a wonderful community oriented little town. The La Pine Frontier Days Association (http://www.lapinefrontierdays.org/) puts on a fabulous Independence Day Celebration over the 4th of July weekend each year. There are many events to watch or participate in: lawn mower races, beard & mustache competition, dutch oven cook-off, fireworks, fun run, kids games, music, parade, Pit BBQ, carnival, and quilt show. There is also a great rodeo put on by the La Pine Rodeo Association (http://www.lapinerodeo.com/) and a car show by the High Lakes Car Club (http://www.highlakescarclub.org/). Many thanks to the volunteers who put on these fabulous events. Check it out sometime, you won't be disappointed!

It is our pleasure to welcome you to our Annual 4th of July Celebration, a long tradition of the La Pine community. This event is a result of the tremendous and generous efforts of a large number of volunteers and businesses in the greater La Pine area.

Ponderosa Pines has common areas throughout the subdivision that are available to all members. Many are road like areas (no paved bike/walking trails) that are found around the outer edge of each set of cul-de-sacs.

There are a couple larger common spaces. This is our picnic area on Blackpine. A few years back the local Boy Scout's built picnic tables for us from our trees that were milled at the High Desert Museum.

As a community, we make use of the picnic area each year for our outdoor annual meeting in July. We also have a community campfire there each Thanksgiving Friday night. It's a good way to see old friends and meet new neighbors.
