Los Angeles’ Union Station. I always pause and admire the way light refracts through the many panes of glass in the entrance. There is a strong Art Deco influence throughout the station, combined with elements of Mission Revival. This resulted in a blended style now called Mission Moderne.

Galleria Sciarra Near the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Like a lot of tourists, I accidentally wandered through trying to avoid the Trevi Fountain crowds. This is a rare piece of Art Nouveau grandeur in a city devoted to classical architecture. It was completed in 1888.
