Sealed bids will be received by the Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission up to 12:00 o'clock noon CST at the office of the Krotz Springs Port Commission, 208 S. Levee Road, Krotz Springs, Louisiana 70750 on
MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2025
And then publicly opened and read for the following:
A THREE YEAR HUNTNG LEASE BEGNNNG JULY 1, 2025 ON THE FOLLOWNG TRACTS OF LAND:
ONE (1) CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF GROUND, CONTAINING 92.523 ACRES, LOCATED IN SECTION ONE (1), TOWNSHIP FIVE SOUTH (T-5-S), RANGE SEVEN EAST (R-7-E), ST. LANDRY PARISH, LOUISIANA, BENG MORE FULLY SHOWN
AND IDENTFIED AS TRACT ONE (1) ON A PLAT OF SURVEY BY MORGAN GOUDEAU & ASSOCIATES DATED AUGUST 21, 2008, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED TO AND MADE A PART OF AN ACT OF CASH SALE DATED JANUARY 29, 2009, RECORDED AS ACT NO. 1011989 OF THE OFFICIAL RECORDS OF THE CLERK OF COURT OF ST. LANDRY PARISH, HERENAFTER REFERRED TO AS 'LEASED PREMISES".
Bids shall be enclosed is a sealed envelope addressed to Cindy Stelly, Executive Director, Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission, and plainly marked on the outside, "Bid for Hunting Lease on Port Property".
The bid shall state the amount of annual rent bidder is willing to pay for each year of the hunting lease, The annual rent shall remain the same for the three year term of said lease.
Each person who submits a bid must also enclose in the envelope a deposit equal to ten (10%) per cent of the bid, but no less than $75.00. The deposit shall be in the form of a certified check or money order payable to the Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission. All unsuccessful bidders will be refunded this bid deposit.
The Owner hereby notifies all bidders that the hunting lease shall be for three (3) years from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028, but shall be subject to ex parte cancellation by the Lessor with thirty (30) days written notice. Any Lessee bidding on the hunting lease shall agree to hold harmless and defend the Port from and against any liability for or arising out of hunting activities on the property. Any Lessee will be required to obtain a policy of general liability insurance limits of at least $1,000,000.00 and name the Port as additional insured on that policy.
This hunting lease shall be for hunting only and no other purpose and will be non-exclusive to any other uses which the Port shall choose to make of the leased property.
The Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any irregularity in the bids received.
