It’s no secret that Lightning Lane Multi Pass costs can add up quickly, especially for larger families 💸
Have no fear, Lightning Lane Multi Pass is still an option… even for those families doing Disney on a budget 🎢
Here’s which parks to purchase and utilize Multi Pass, and where to pass on Multi Pass ⬇️
4️⃣ Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park: Lighting Lane Multi Pass isn’t necessary, unless you plan on sleeping in and visiting the park later in the day.
3️⃣ Epcot: Lightning Lane Multi Pass is helpful, but you can easily navigate the park with it as well.
2️⃣ Disney’s Hollywood Studios: I do recommend Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Hollywood Studios. Wait times can get very long, and there are a lot of in-demand rides. However, if your little ones don’t reach height requirements, you can find success by rope dropping!
1️⃣ Magic Kingdom Park: highly recommend! Of course you can hit a lot of rides by rope dropping and not using Lightning Lane Multi Pass, but it is SUPER helpful here with so many ride options!

You want to go on the BIG rides at Disney, but you have LITTLE princes and princesses in your travel party who can’t ride or are too scared to ride. What do you do? 🤷🏼‍♀️
➡️ You can use what Disney calls, ‘Rider Switch’.
What is Rider Switch? - If you have little ones in your party who are not tall enough, or simply do not want to ride a ride, you can use Rider Switch. One person waits with the child while the rest of the travel party rides the ride. Then the waiting adult can switch turns and ride the ride with one additional guest, without having to wait in line 🎢
Here’s how Rider Switch works - Make sure you talk to a Cast Member BEFORE waiting in line if you’d like to use this feature. They’ll enter it into the system and link the permission to your Magic Bands before the first group rides ⌚️
The first group waits in line and rides the ride. Woo! 😁
When it is the waiting adult’s turn, they and one additional guest for the first group scan into the Lightning Lane entrance and ride the attraction. Woo, again! 🎟️
Why this is helpful - This is highly beneficial for families who have little ones who can’t or won’t ride an attraction. Travel parties don’t have to wait in line twice, and one special family member gets to ride the attraction twice 🤭
