🦢 They’re coming soon! One of our favorite winter visitors will soon make its way back to Virginia’s River Realm.

Each year, Tundra Swans travel from the Arctic tundra to spend the colder months along our creeks, rivers and bays. These bright white birds gather in shallow waters to feed and rest, often arriving in flocks that make for an incredible wildlife sighting.

❄️ Look for them from late fall through early spring, with peak sightings typically in January and February.

📍 Whiting Creek Boat Ramp, Wake Beach, Mill Creek Landing and Belle Isle State Park are great places to start looking.

From Tundra Swans and Bald Eagles to river otters and Great Blue Herons, the rivers are alive all year round. 🌊
