We enjoyed visiting some family in Iowa and Wisconsin. They let us stay in their beautiful accommodations. In Iowa, we stayed in a river house and watched the barges pass by on the Mississippi River and explored the nearby towns. In Wisconsin we stayed in a log cabin on the lake and boated up to Madison. We had a great time in both locations and lots of visiting and fun was had and maybe a few beverages were consumed.

Mount Rushmore, Sturgis, Deadwood and Wall Drug. Feeling patriotic at Rushmore. Sturgis is getting ready for the rally in 2 weeks. Spent the night in Deadwood, a neat little gold rush town with lots of history and casinos. Visited Wall Drugs which is a drug store that has it all. This is an attraction in itself.

Grand Teton National Park. Beautiful snowcapped mountains overlooking crystal clear lakes. I was looking forward to some great photos, however the sun was on the wrong side of the mountains.

Yellowstone. The 1st National Park in the world! The ONLY place in the world with this type of thermal activity.
We appreciated the history, saw thousands of Bison, hundreds of elk, antelope, bear, coyote and even witnessed the elusive Black Wolf!
The mineral/bacteria colors of the sprigs are like nothing you've seen, the waterfalls are impressive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day visit.

Just when we think they can't get any better... Glacier National Park says hold my beer. From snow capped mountains, tourquois glacial lakes, and waterfalls everywhere, to the wildlife. We saw goats, deer, rams, bears, ground squirrels and more. We hiked some slippery slopes and some cliff edges with beautiful views all around. It was hard to stop taking photos. We also hiked through the giant cedar forest, then visited the original lodge on McDonald Lake. We only saw 1 glacier. There are a few more in the backcountry. FYI they are saying all the glaciers here will be gone by 2030. This park is absolutely a MUST see.

Jasper and Banff National Parks join together to make a spectacular destination! The numerous glaciers waterfalls and turquoise lakes are breathtaking. Even our campsite was next to a waterfall and campfire wood is included in Canada's National Park Campgrounds.
Downtown Banff appears to be a sizable, trendy ski town with many shops, restaurants and even a shopping mall. A spectacular area in Canada!

We traveled basically every road in Alaska and finished off the trip by leaving Alaska via the historic Alaskan highway. We drove the entire highway from Tok Alaska to Dawson Creek Canada. This road is adventurous with sections of dirt road, frost heaved pavement, no markings and lots of wildlife. The speed limit on this road is limited by its condition and how much damage you are willing to inflict on your vehicle. The history of this road is a great story that can be viewed on videos on YouTube. Many towns on this road have a population of less than 50. We visited the Watson Lake sign post forest, Liard River Hot Springs, Tessa for cinnamon rolls and the Muncho Lake area was beautiful! We used a book called The Mile Post through Canada and Alaska. This book lays out the sites and history of everything mile by mile. We highly recommend the

Homer, AK, Exit Glacier and Miller's Landing. It was a rainy, cold, few days, but we had fun, walking the beach while the tide was out, watching the sealife and walking the shops on the spit. We stayed in the enclosed trailer due to wind and rain. The first windy, rainy, night we stayed on the beach as some of our party stayed in a beachside lodge and the manager let us park the trailer beachside for the night. The next day we hiked to Exit Glacier. It's amazing to see how much it has receded through the years. We spent the second night riverside tucked between snow capped mountains. It was a free to camp area that was absolutely beautiful.

This Glacier is absolutely beautiful with the waterfalls, ponds, and ice. We were able to walk right up to it.
