If you are buying any kind of a vessel, find out from an expert on what it will cost to own, fix, and operate before you purchase. Never make the mistake of thinking that the person selling is telling the whole story. My job is to make sure that you know exactly what you're getting into. On the other side if you're selling, find out what your vessel is worth and what you can do to get full price. Remember this if you're a client the phrase "I know a guy" is always in your arsenal.

All SAMS members please, as you tend to your surveys and have the attention of new owners, old Captains and of course the brokers please make them aware that Lithium batteries, and saltwater can make for a very hot fire. If your electric bike or scooter has fallen in the ocean do not remove battery and bring into the vessel to dry take to the nearest all steel dumpster and throw it in. These batteries have proven to be deadly.
