If we are being honest, you should have bought a pontoon if you didnt want to "drive" your boat. Chine walk doesn't just "go away"... it means your boat is fast!
The chine thats happening when youre driving a fast boat (70mph+) is not because something is wrong. Its because your boat is finally riding on that small 17 inch "pad" that manufacturers put there purposely. Its all part of the equation to being faster than your friends 😁
You have to balance the boat on that "pad" to achieve higher top end speeds. If youre shutting your boat down when it starts chining, youll never see its full potential.
Its alot like riding a bike, once you get the feel of your own boat, it becomes second nature. We explain this all the time to guys that complain about it. The absolute best way to learn your specific boat is to leave the fishing rods at home and take a couple days to just go DRIVE!
After we tune an outboard, MOST of the time that chine becomes much more manageable at higher speeds if youre willing to try it. The boats we perform our tune/set up service on almost always have this result where theyre easier to drive. The added power also adds CONTROL!
