Hello all!

At the beginning of October, Sunshine Aircraft Repair, Inc. and Waukegan Avionics were sold by founder Howard Siedlecki to Patrick Peterson at Sunshine Aviation Services, LLC. We have moved our Waukegan shop up to our Kenosha Location, where we will continue to operate moving forward.

Howard got his start as an aircraft mechanic in the US Marine Corps, during which he served two tours in Vietnam. He continued his education in aviation after that at Blackhawk tech, and went on to get his A&P, IA, and build this wonderful business. During his long and wonderful career in aviation, he has received a great many awards as a result of his extreme dedication to quality, safety, and excellence.

While the business has been sold to me, it is my pleasure to have Howard around. After all the blood, sweat, and tears that he’s poured in this business, he’s earned the right to enjoy his family and friends, while still being able to come in and be a veritable wealth of knowledge and guidance in this thing that he loves: Aviation.

I look very much forward to the years ahead of us, the growth and learning that will inevitably happen along the way, and to continue my own love affair with aviation. My own experience has been wide and varied, from maintenance to rebuilds to major avionics installations…and is ever growing: as it should be. There’s never an end date to learning.

From maintenance to avionics, your team here at Sunshine will continue to deliver the quality you expect, and the experience you deserve!

Thank you Howard for entrusting this to me. I don’t know if I’ll ever truly be able to convey what your trust and confidence means to me.

Sunshine Aircraft Repair, Located at KENW airport in Kenosha, WI, is looking for mechanics, A&P, IA, avionics installers.

We are looking for entry level or experienced individuals. Willing to train the right people.

We are also the parent company to Waukegan Avionics, and focus just as much on minor/major avionics installs as we do on annual inspections, maintenance, and mechanical repair. Repairmen welcome!

Pay scale to be determined based upon experience. Starting minimum is $15/hour for entry level, and up as appropriate based off of your experience from there.

Just sent this beauty out the door for it’s maiden voyage with a full Dynon Skyview panel, PMA450B audio panel, Avidyne IFD540, and Garmin GNC255 nav/com. Overhauls props, magnetos, new plug leads, fine wire plugs, micro VG’s, removed air wolf air oil seperators, and so much more.

What a good project, and we’re happy to see our customer smile as he heads south for the holiday weekend!
