Dear Drivers,

Here is a 'No-Zone Refresher' so you can share the road safely with large trucks.

⭐️ AVOID A TRUCK'S BLIND SPOT
If you can't see the truck's side mirrors, the truck driver can't see you.

⭐️ DO NOT TRY TO PASS A TRUCK ON THE RIGHT WHEN IT IS TURNING RIGHT.
Trucks have to make wide swings to turn.

⭐️ TRUCK'S NEED AT LEAST 4 TO 6 EXTRA SECONDS OF SPACE
Especially at highway speeds and wet road conditions.

⭐️ DO NOT CUT IN FRONT OF A LARGE VEHICLE
They require more distance to stop than cars.

⭐️ WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE ENTIRE CAB OF THE SEMI TRUCK IN YOUR REAR-VIEW MIRROR BEFORE SIGNALING TO PASS A TRUCK
Blind spots can be deadly. Don't cut a truck off.

A truck's blind spots are called No-Zones. A No Zone is the area around the truck's where your car is no longer visible or you are so close that the truck can't stop or maneuver safely. In both cases, when you are in a NoZone, you are in much greater danger of getting into a collision.

Kansas DOT selects 22 projects Through Cost Share Program

State leaders recently announced 22 projects have been selected as part of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Cost Share Program, which is meant to provide funding for transportation initiatives.
