🚨 Don't forget to register for our special episode of Freight Expectations! 🚨

Join Adam Hill and Alyson Schroer on Thursday, September 3 at 9:00 a.m. CT as they dive into new regulations for foreign importers into the U.S.

Following the Executive Order issued in June, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has provided additional guidance surrounding increased scrutiny of foreign Importers of Record (IORs).

Adam and Alyson will break down what these changes mean for foreign importers, including increased Know Your Customer (KYC) and vetting requirements, new CTPAT considerations, changes to informal entries, increased scrutiny of CBP Form 5106 information, and the growing responsibilities of Customs brokers working with foreign IORs.

If your company imports into the U.S. as a foreign IOR, these changes could directly impact how you do business.

The tariff tug-of-war with Canada continued last week when President Trump announced new 50% tariffs on certain Canadian imports. This time he used Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 citing unfair treatment of American products.

The new tariffs go into effect on August 19, leaving the door open for a resolution before then. Read our latest blog post for more information and our thoughts on the matter:
