This week we are planted in Psalm 63:1-3. This passage records the prayer of David, a man after God's own heart (Acts 13:22). David was an example for every single Christian. He lived a life that was characterized by a submission to God and His word. He had a love for God, and he delighted in Him.

The first 2 verses describe David's desire to glorify God and why he has that desire. He has seen and beheld God's glory (Psalm 119). David has experienced the steadfast love of God. He knows that God's steadfast love is better than life because God is the one who has blessed him with every good thing (Psalm 103).

What is David's response to all of this? He praises the Lord. David loves God so deeply that it brings about a physical response of worship! As present-day Christians, we behold God's glory in rehearsing the gospel. As you grow in your desire for God's word, praise the Lord!

This week we're diving into Titus 2. This passage tells us first how we're supposed to live, and secondly why we're supposed to live in that way. We're called to renounce ungodliness (Romans 6:12-13). But why do we do this? Why do we seek to live godly lives in the present age? We love Jesus Christ, and we obey his commands (John 14:15). We want our lives to bring about his glory in every way (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Because we long for God to be glorified, we can't wait to see Jesus Christ return. His glory will appear in the greatest display as He returns (Philippians 2:9-11). This is our blessed hope! We love this because we love Him more than life (Psalm 63:3).

This week, we're presented with a command from 2 Timothy. In Chapter 2, verse 15, he tells us to present ourselves to God as one approved. Why do we present ourselves to God? He created all things for His glory, and as His children, we desire to please Him (Romans 11:36, Psalm 19:14).

How is it that we can present ourselves to God without being ashamed? We must rightly handle the word of truth. This includes believing the word of the Bible, but also applying it. One must place their faith in Jesus Christ as their savior and follow Him (Ephesians 2:8-9, Luke 9:23-24). If we love God, we will keep His commandments (John 14:15). This is the way that we can approach God (1 John 2:28).
