So excited for Wrangell!!

Through an announcement by U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan, the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) has signaled its intent to award Wrangell more than $43 million for three major infrastructure projects: the Deepwater Port and future shipyard, downtown waterfront and marine infrastructure improvements, and replacement of the community’s critical water flume.

The anticipated funding would represent the largest federal economic development investment in Borough history—strengthening essential services, supporting our working waterfront, and creating opportunities for jobs and long-term economic growth.

Years of planning, partnership, and advocacy have brought Wrangell to this milestone. The Borough thanks Alaska’s Congressional delegation, our project partners, and the many people working to advance these priorities for our community. This progress also reflects the dedicated work of Borough staff, the guidance and support of EDA’s Alaska representative, and the community’s continued engagement in shaping Wrangell’s future.
