July 2-8, 2021
North American Standard Out-of-Service Criteria; Hazardous Materials Safety Permits
Interstate 29 Work Zones
MM 123 - South of the Missouri/Iowa State Line - Bridge reconstruction
All traffic shares I-29's southbound lanes as the northbound bridge above the Nishnabotna River is replaced. One lane in each direction, traveling head-to-head.
In late October, the northbound bridge should be complete. Work stops for the winter and two lanes are open in each direction.
In March 2022 - all traffic shares the northbound lanes as the southbound bridge is rebuilt. All work should be complete in late summer 2022.
MM 69-74 - South of Mound City - Bridge rehabilitation
One lane in each direction through July 31.
MM 57-60 - North of St. Joseph - Bridge rehabilitation
Northbound traffic will be rerouted to share the southbound lanes in a head-to-head arrangement. Expect lower speed limit and slight delay.
Work expected to end in Fall 2021.
MM 20-31 - Platte City to Dearborne - Pavement repair with 12' lane width & guardrail improvements
Crews begin concrete repair work in the northbound lanes on July 6 and switch to the southbound side around mid-week. One lane will be closed in the direction of the work. Lane restrictions might remain up around-the-clock to allow fresh concrete repairs to cure to interstate strength.
While concrete crews work on I-29 North, a guardrail team will close one lane of I-29 South to complete their work and vice versa in the coming week.
Paving crews return in early September to complete the total asphalt resurfacing of the lanes. Guardrail work continues July-September.
MM 2-6 - Kansas City North - Bridge reconstruction
One lane open in each direction. Through Fall 2021.
KANSAS CITY INTERSTATE INTERCHANGE RAMP CLOSURE
The ramp from I-635 North to I-29 North is closed through mid-November.
I-29 Multiple Bridge Replacement North of Kansas City
Replacement of the I-29 bridge above 56th St. and the Waukomis Drive Bridge in Platte County will continue through Spring 2023.
Expect lane closures and reduced speed limits in the work area.

Interstate 35 Work Zones
MM 40-49 - Cameron - Pavement repair work
One lane in each direction. Through mid-July.
Interstate 44 Work Zones
MM 274-278 - Fenton - Meramec Bridge and pavement reconstruction
Ongoing reconstruction between Mraz in Fenton and Lindbergh in the City. Includes the I-44/I-270 interchange. Expect lane closures, possible temporary ramp closures and some delay.
MM 242-243 - St Clair - Nighttime work zones
Pavement repair, striping and bridge work from 7 pm to 7 am. Expect some lane closures and bright lights. Close to completion..
MM 157-169 - St. Robert- Bridge washing
Daytime work - Crews clean bridges by flushing them with water. Expect wet pavement and vulnerable people near traffic lanes.
MM 140-151 - West of St. Robert - Bridge Reconstruction
Westbound I-44 reduced to one lane at Gasconade River crossing through July. Zipper merge encouraged - fill both lanes and take turns at the merge point to reduce the length of the queue and help traffic move more smoothly. Several work zone crashes in the area are attracting the attention of law enforcement.
MM 38-65 - West Springfield to Mt. Vernon - Several pavement repair and week-long bridge improvements
Be on alert between West Springfield and Mt. Vernon as pavement and bridge crews will work at various times, day and night, on pavement and bridge improvements through mid-July.
Interstate 49 Work Zones
MM 70-75 - South of Lamar - Bridge reconstruction
Expect one lane in each direction, then a shift of all traffic in a head-to-head arrangement using the northbound lanes through December.
MM 63 - Bridge at Opossum Creek (north and south)
and
MM 68 - Bridges at C**n Creek (north) & MNA Railroad (north)
Work to rehabilitate C**n Creek Bridge.
Expect a lane closure around the clock and possible delays through
Winter 2021.
MM 20-21 - Neosho - Pavement resurfacing
Should be complete by mid July.
MM 5-11 - Pineville - Pavement resurfacing
Overnight work. Through Labor Day.
Interstate 55 Work Zones
I-255 at I-55 - Bridge Deck Sealing - Sunday, June 27- 8 pm to 4 am
MM 0-2 on I-255 - Expect three right lines of northbound I-255 to be closed as crews perform bridge deck sealing.
MM 197-201 - St. Louis - Pavement repair
Between I-270 and the City Limit of St. Louis City. Two lanes closed at night.
MM 106-123 - Pavement repair - Southbound lanes
Repair crews will work in various areas in this corridor thru July.
MM 105-108 - Fruitland - Pavement Repairs with 12' width
Northbound I-55 reduced to a single, 11' lane during daylight hours, Mon. - Fri., July 12-16.
MM 99-101 - Cape Girardeau - Intersection Reconstruction
Construction of a Diverging Diamond Interchange continues through December. Expect lane closures. Traffic shares southbound lanes.
MM 89-85 - South of Cape Girardeau- Bridge Repairs
Southbound I-55 will be restricted to a single, 12-foot lane.
Through June.
MM 73-78 - North of Sikeston- Bridge Repairs
North and Southbound traffic reduced to a single, 10-foot lane
Through June.
Full closure of I-64 set for the weekends of July 9-12 and 23-26
Interstate 64 Work Zones
MM 37-40 - Downtown St. Louis City- Full closure of the interstate
Starting at 7 p.m., Friday, July 9, crews will begin closing all lanes of I-64 in both directions between Grand Ave. (MM 37) and the I-64/I-44 & I-55 interchange (MM 40)near the Poplar Street Bridge.
During the weekend closure, girders will be set for the Ewing St. bridge above I-64. No traffic can safely move in the area until this work is complete.
Lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, July 12.
A second closure for a second, nearby bridge project is currently scheduled for the weekend of July 23-26.
CMV drivers should choose one of several other interstate routes to avoid the area. The loop highways - I-170 and I-270/I-255 and the I-70 Stan Musial Bridge make connections easy.
PLEASE do not attempt the detour signed for automobiles. It uses downtown city streets which are far from ideal for commercial vehicles. Save time and effort by choosing an alternate route, if possible.
Interstate 70 Work Zones
MM 214-218 - Lake St. Louis - Pavement resurfacing
One or two lanes closed on weekday nights through July.
MM 167-169- West of Mineola - Bridge demolition - De-decking
Intermittent lane closures as crews work on bridge above I-70.
MM 155-165 - Bachelor/Calwood to West of Mineola - Pavement Repair
Nighttime pavement work through mid-July.
MM 114-115 - Rocheport - Bridge Replacement
Construction work is expected to begin in late 2021 to build a completely new bridge. Most of the work will be done away from current traffic lanes, however expect to see trucks and workers in the area.

MM 74-76 - Marshall - Bridge reconstruction
The Hwy YY bridge above I-70 will be rebuilt by the end of November.
Expect lane closures and a slight delay.
Interstate 229 Work Zone
An unexpected number of crashes and observations of excessive speed in this area is attracting law enforcement attention. Please drive carefully.
I-270 NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY PROJECT
A multi-year project is underway to address outdated highway design, deteriorating infrastructure and traffic congestion of nearly 9 miles of I-270 in North St. Louis County.
Motorists can expect construction conditions on the route and its eight interchanges through December 2023. Occasional closures of the interstate are expected. Long-term ramp closures are already underway.

Interstate 270 Work Zones
I-270 at I-55 - Bridge Deck Sealing - Tuesday, June 29- 8 pm to 4 am
Expect the I-270 West ramp to I-55 to be reduced to one lane as crews perform bridge deck sealing.
EXIT 29 - I-270 West North St. Louis County - Ramp closed through July
Starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, June 26, crews will close the westbound I-270 exit ramp to West Florissant Avenue. In addition, northbound Dunn Road at West Florissant will close. This closure is necessary for the rebuild of the W. Florissant bridge above I-270.

I-435 Weekend closure set for June 25-28

Interstate 435 at Mo 210 in Kansas City
MM 67-69 - KC Metro west of Raytown - Northbound - Bridge maintenance
Expect one lane closure through August.
MM 55-57- Kansas City Mo. 210/North of Front St. - Bridge reconstruction
All traffic shares the Northbound lanes in a head-to-head arrangement.
All Mo. Route 210 ramps are out-of-service until the project ends in Dec.
Interstate 635 to I-29 Ramp Closure
Exit 12 - Kansas City Metro - Ramp CLOSED for Bridge reconstruction
Traffic from I-635 North is unable to access I-29 North through November.
Use an alternate such as I-435, I-70 or I-670.
US Route 60 Work Zone
Springfield - US 60 East to US 65 North ramp to close three weekends
Between 8 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Monday on the following weekends, the flyover ramp from US 60 East to US 65 North will close as crews perform preventative maintenance on the structure.
July 9-12
July 16-19
July 23-26
Multiple alternate routes, including the US 160 West Bypass to I-44 East to US 65 North are available for US 60 travelers.
Springfield- Between Glenstone and National
Lanes are shifted and concrete barriers separate traffic from earthwork in the median as lanes are rebuilt.
Speed limit is reduced in the area.
Drivers operating at excessive speeds now attract law enforcement attention.
US Route 65 Work Zone
Branson - Bridge Pavement Replacement
One lane of US 65 South will close across the Lake Taneycomo Bridge, leaving one 16-foot lane open for traffic.
This work lasts until late July. Expect delays, especially on weekends.
The ramp from Mo. Route 76 (76 Country Blvd) to US 65 South will close and remain closed for weeks. Take the 65 North ramp instead and turn around at the next interchange.
Springfield - Bridge above Sunshine Street
Weather issues did not allow crews to complete the bridge sealing work they began earlier in June. Look for crews to have one lane closed either north or southbound in the coming week.
US Route 54 emergency bridge repair
West of Nevada-
Westbound US 54 is reduced to one lane and speed limits are reduced at Little Drywood Creek west of Nevada to allow crews to prepare for upcoming repair.
Prepare for a crossover and head-to-head traffic in the coming weeks as all traffic will share the eastbound lanes while bridge work is underway.
I-44/US 63 Shortcut out of service several days in July
Missouri Route 68 South of St. James/North of Salem
Full closure of Mo. Route 68 tentatively scheduled for July 6-8 with a second, longer closure in mid-July.
A pipe that runs under the highway must be completely removed and replaced. To do so safely, the highway will close in two phases.
LOCATION - 7.7 miles south of the Route68/Route 8 Junction in Phelps County. South of St. James, North of Salem.
There is no truck-friendly detour around the closure. Please avoid this entire section of Route 68.
Significant resurfacing projects
US 36 - Meadville to Cameron - Approx. 50 miles.
Resurfacing with single lane closures and 14' width restrictions around the clock. Workers present during daylight hours, M - F with occasional Saturday work. When lanes are closed and workers are not present, pavement is curing. This project will last several months.
US 63 - Adair and Macon Counties - Starting July 19
Southbound lanes - From Route KK near Millard to LaPlata (approx. 5 miles)
Northbound lanes - North of LaPlata to just north of Route DD near Macon.(approx. 17 miles)
