Circuit Breaker Mechanic - Entry Level

Johnstown company seeking individual with strong mechanical aptitude and desire to learn new skills and concepts. Johnstown is a satellite shop to our Connecticut based service center, a leader in providing power distribution products and services, to commercial, industrial, municipal, and utility customers in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.

Skills required:

The ideal candidate must possess natural talent for mechanical concepts, the ability to understand mechanical motion and forces, and possess the ability to identify cause and effect in trouble shooting mechanical mechanisms. Candidates should have basic hand tools to perform job function and know how to use them. The ability to apply disassembly and reassembly techniques and create custom tools as necessary is critical. Successful applicant will be motivated and have a sense of purpose, the ability to assume responsibility of projects assigned, and know how to use common industrial safety skills. Basic electrical understanding a plus.

Primary Function:

Repair, rebuild, and retrofitting of 480 volts to 38KV, Air and Vacuum Circuit Breakers, Contactors and their related switchgear and enclosures. Mechanical disassembly and assembly, identify repairs required to restore to serviceable condition, begin to learn all aspects of mechanisms, contact structures, insulation systems, wiring, troubleshooting and testing. This is NOT an electrician or electronics position.
