It was wonderful connecting with new people, catching up with familiar faces, and supporting a great event alongside the Montrose community. Pet safety on moving day!

Make sure your furry friend is either in a crate or securely buckled in your car to ensure a smooth and safe move. If your pet is nervous or scared, put their harness or collar on early so they know they are going with you. Let them watch your pack so they see what is going on and are not confused by the changes. On moving day, keep them somewhere safe, either in a quiet room, with a friend or family member, or at a trusted boarding facility. Make sure your pets are wearing identification tags at all times.

Pet checklist!
- Leash and harness/collar
- Water and water bowl
- Medication
- Bed or blankets
- Crate/kennel
- P**p bags
- Food and food bowl
- Toys
- Treats
- Paper towels and wet wipes (in case they have an accident)
- Medical records

Moving in hot weather
During hot weather, it’s essential to keep pets indoors in a cool room and provide plenty of fresh water. Never leave your pet in a car without water and air conditioning. Even with the windows cracked, it can take just 6 minutes for them to overheat.
