Our last week in Van Life! We started off by exploring “The Gateway to the West,” in St. Louis 🌆 We walked around Gateway Arch National Park and saw the infamous arch which is the largest arch in the world 🌎 There was a baseball game that was about to start when we were there so the streets were full of fans in St. Louis gear heading to the stadium for the game 🏟 Then, we headed to Indiana Dunes National Park where we got to swim in Lake Michigan 🏊🏼 The water was super clear and refreshing and Winston loved cooling off in it 🐶 After that, we explored Indianapolis and found a nice trail and park where we went for a run 🏃‍♂️ and found a cool little swing on the water 💦 Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in Michigan was next and we saw breathtaking views of bright blue water in Lake Michigan 😍 The dunes to get down to the water were really steep and hard to climb up in the sand 🏖 There were people who were having to crawl up the sand dunes on all fours including us 😂 We were able to drive through Detroit and stop to see Lake Eerie and Lake Huron so we can officially say we have seen all 5 Great Lakes 💙Lastly, we drove through Columbus and Cleveland 🌃 We are so glad we got to share our travels and grateful for the experience but we are also ready to settle back in to a normal life 🤩 Our plan now is to get an apartment and jobs to fund our future adventures 🤪 Be sure to follow along as we will try to post some of our local adventures with our van 🥰

We started our week at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (which is the first national lakeshore of the US 🇺🇸)where we enjoyed some gorgeous views of Lake Superior and its sandstone cliff coastline 🪨 Next, we spent a few days camping on the upper peninsula where we set up a tent to get some relief from the heat 🌞 After that, we drove through Madison, Green Bay, and Milwaukee where we got to witness a gorgeous capital building, the Green Bay packers stadium 🏟, and even found a Winston look-a-like 🐶 Meanwhile, we made some pit stops along our route to jump in Lake Michigan 💦 Then, we did some eventful hikes where we saw wild baby turkeys, baby raccoons, and lots of bunnies🐰 Lastly, we finished our week in Chicago where we got stuck in traffic for over an hour, saw the iconic cloud gate AKA the bean, had delicious Pequod’s Chicago style 🍕, and saw one of the prettiest river walks ever 👣 we are excited to finally be back on east coast time! ⏰

This week we started off by going to the Mall of America 🇺🇸 Then, we explored the twin cities of Minneapolis and St.Paul 🌆 Next, we went to Voyageurs National Park 🏞 After that, we hiked up to gooseberry falls, explored split rock light house, and hiked to Wisconsin highest waterfall Big Manitou Falls 💦 Next, we got to try Culver’s for the first time which is the company that invented cheese curds 🧀 They are also known for their butter burgers and turtle sundaes 🐢 We’ve really enjoyed exploring around Lake Superior 🎣 Now, we are beach hopping in the Upper peninsula of Michigan 💦

This week we started off in the cornfields of Nebraska where we visited a few historical sites, explored some grasslands, and visited Omaha 🌱While we were in Omaha we daydreamed of the Hokies making it to the college World Series there ⚾️ 😂 We spent the rest of the week with our family in Iowa 🎉 During our stay with them we saw Lee Brice at a country music festival 🤠 , went to our first cycle bar class 🚲, had a ton of delicious and unique food that included deep fried cookie dough, cheese curds, and chicken and waffles 🧇, watched tech baseball all weekend, went bar hopping in downtown Des Moines 🍻, gambled 💰, saw the new Topgun movie🍿, went to Smash Park and played giant connect four, fooseball and co****le 🏏, and most of all had amazing quality time with family we don’t get to see very often ❤️ Next stop: Minnesota 😊 Hannah Daley Suzanne Daley

The Dakota’s! We started our week in Theodore Roosevelt National Park where we had an awesome campsite right outside the national park and we got to see some amazing views of the grasslands landscape mixed with petrified forests 😍 Next, we visited Wind Cave National Park where we saw some stunning cave systems and tons of wild bison 🦬 We camped almost every night this week in many different spots which made us and Winston super happy 😃 Then, we went to Mount Rushmore and got to see a major historic landmark we have been learning about in school for years 🇺🇸 Lastly, we visited Badlands National Park where we saw a mixed-grass prairie-land along with gorgeous rock formations 🪨 We wished we could stay here longer 🤩 Next stop: Nebraska 🌽

We started our week in Yellowstone national park which is the first national park in America 🇺🇸 Here we got to see tons of beautifully colored geysers, read about a lot of cool history regarding how the park and the park system was created, saw the famous old faithful geyser eruption, and saw tons of wildlife including a Buffalo that crossed our trail 🦬 Next, we drove up to Missoula where we finally saw some civilization and we had our first shower in days at planet fitness and got to do some grocery shopping to stock our cabinets 🍎 After that, we went to glacier national park and got to explore some beautiful trails and scenery and we planned on having a “photo shoot” to get some pictures of us where we’re not in hiking clothes 🥾 While getting those pictures Jack proposed 😲 💍 We spent the rest of our time celebrating in glacier and then camping around montana for Memorial Day weekend 🏕 It’s been nice having a break from the constant travel to be able to relax and spend time with each other 👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏻 Now, we’re off again to North Dakota 😁

Idaho and Wyoming 🏕 We started off our week at Bruneau Dunes state park where we got to explore a desert landscape and climb some massive sand dunes 🏜 next, we went to Shoshone falls where we got to see the “Niagara falls of the west” 😎There was even a beautiful rainbow waiting for us 🌈 Then, we finished up our adventures in Idaho at Upper Mesa Falls 💧After that, we spent a few days in Grand Teton National Park and exploring Jackson where we got to hangout in a really cool downtown area with yummy food, camp for free for a few nights, and explore a beautiful snowy scene ❄️ We fell in love with the Grand Teton landscape and we both agree this has been the most scenic national park yet 🗻 The last picture is the view we woke up to this morning 🌄 Now we’re off to Yellowstone national park and Montana🌲

This week we spent our time in Washington 🌲 finishing up our traveling in the Pacific Northwest ☔️First, we explored Ruby Beach 🪨 & Olympic National Park 🏕 The beach had a lot of sea stacks and a rocky coastline which reminded us of Maine ⚓️The beach was so peaceful and we had it all to ourselves 🏖 Winston loved playing fetch 🎾 Next, we went to Seattle where we got to see the intern house used in Grey’s Anatomy 🏥 , and a beautiful park that overlooked the city 🏙 and the space needle 💉Then, we explored Whidbey Island by going to a couple beautiful state parks on the coast 🌊 Washington is gorgeous because all of the trees and plants are so luscious and green, but we missed the sunshine ☀️ Lastly, we went to a drive in movie theatre in Idaho which gave us a taste of home🏠 and then we had to get some potatoes so we had Boise Fry Company 🍟 which has a sauce bar and offers 7 different types of potato options and 5 various cuts of fries 🥔

Oregon 🌦 we finished up our week in Oregon by celebrating Sarah’s birthday at a hotel on cannon beach 🏖 cannon beach is known for the massive haystack rock standing at 235 ft which makes it the third largest sea stack in the world 🌎 this is where parts of the Goonies and the twilight movies were filmed! 🎥 Sarah’s parents gifted us an ocean view hotel room for a few nights where we got to ride complimentary bikes, got to have beach bonfires, use the gym, hot tub, and pool, we got complimentary fresh hot cookies, we had champagne delivered to our room for her birthday, and we had actual unlimited running water, and a king size bed 🤩 We took many showers and baths (Sarah took 6 baths during our stay 😂) and slept so good 🛌 Overall, we had a great visit and made our visit amazing 🥳 next, we drove through Portland which was a cool city but we had been warned to not stay the night here due to the crime in the area so we did not stay long 🕵🏻 next, we went up to Columbia river gorge national preserve where there are tons of trails to hike and we saw many stunning waterfalls including the infamous Multnomah Falls 🙌🏻 Oregon has been gorgeous but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited to get out of the rain ☔️ next stop, Washington 🤞🏻

We started off this week at Redwoods National Park and exploring the nearby beaches 🏖 Then, we left California and went to Craytor Lake National Park💧Most of the park was covered in snow, but we were able to explore around the lake and saw some amazing views 😍 Winston loved playing in the snow ⛄️ Next we hiked at Toketee falls with breathtaking views of a bright blue waterfall 💦 We ended the week in Eugene visiting family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 They took us to Fall Creek Falls to hike and have a picnic on the river 🍉🥪We swam at a Hot Springs on the river that had gorgeous views 🌲 We hiked Spencer’s Butte which led to a pretty view of the city and Oregon University’s campus 🥾 We had a great time catching up with family, eating at cool restaurants and exploring Oregon with them ☔️ Next stop: Canon Beach 🐚

This week we went to San Francisco and saw breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge 🌁 at Bakers Beach, drove and walked on the bridge, explored Golden Gate Park, drove around the hilly downtown area and saw the Full House’s iconic house 🏠 After that we spent a few days with good friends who live in Sonoma Maria Elaina & Daara😊 While we were there, we had a wine tasting in Napa Valley 🍷, went to a parade and festival, met some really cool people Rena & Felipe, went to some yummy restaurants 🍱, had some fun game nights, and had delicious ice cream 🍦 in downtown Sonoma! Finally, we ended the week at Lake Tahoe to celebrate our anniversary 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 We saw some beautiful views of the lake, did some cool hikes and had a nice dinner 🥘 Next stop: Redwoods National Park 🌲

Central California 🤩 we started our week off in Ventura where we had been relaxing at the beach and working on schoolwork as Jack started a new class that requires a lot of attention 🤓 then, we went to sequoia national park where we got to see beautiful giant forests that include some of the largest and oldest trees in the world 🌲 next, we went to kings canyon national park which is home to the largest remaining grove of sequoia trees in the world along with deep valleys and distinctive rock outcroppings 🪨 John Muir once said that kings canyon rivaled Yosemite! After that, we went to Yosemite national park where we got to see the famous Yosemite falls, half dome, and El Capitan along with other towering granite monoliths 😮 afterward, we went to pinnacles national park where we got to see some amazing spring wildflowers and the rich diversity of its plant life that grows on the San Andreas fault line 🌺 we both thought that pinnacles national park looked like a drastically different landscape compared to the other national parks in California as it looked like a jungle 🙈 finally, we ended our week by visiting Big Sur where we got to see scenic coastline views with harsh cliffs and breathtakingly blue waters below 🌊
