I think The Swag is having a moment. We visited for my birthday in early June, then it was suddenly ALL over my feed and email. The marketing team is working overtime on those Charlotte influencers.

Deservedly so. The Swag may be the most peaceful place I’ve been in a while. It’s quiet, in every way that matters. It’s atop a mountain for one (a harrowing drive that climbs 1,000 feet) and there are only 19 rooms. The price is not casual ($1,500 per night on some dates), but meals are included. The spa is small but stellar.

It’s the details that really sing. Helping yourself to homemade ice cream and local sodas from the old-timey Coke cooler. Being summoned every evening by the clang of the dinner bell. Choosing your own walking stick, which you can take home and bring back for your subsequent stays. Special touches that are decidedly their own.

But nothing beats rocking on the porch or in a swing on the lawn with a calm breeze and that stunning blue ridge view. The Swag is a definitive oasis, an excuse to unplug and a cure for what ails us.

Call me when you need to book a getaway, and let these mountains restore your soul. I’ll even sweeten the pot with insider rates, welcome goodies, resort credit and a room upgrade (if available).

Travel ... it's rough out there right now. Crowded airports, dangerous heat, new visa systems and unrest in the Middle East. It’s been an uncomfortable year for travel.

If you still want to get away but are hesitant, I have a list of alternative destinations you could consider when the world is on fire. These are beautiful, historic places with easy travel from the U.S. that avoid a flight route through a place you don’t want to be.

I have packing for a trip down to a science. I can be out of the house in 10 minutes flat whether we're going for the day or a month.

I went to Europe last summer for three weeks with only one (albeit very heavy) bag. (Alright, I did buy a new suitcase in Florence, but for the souvenirs. Don't shame me.) I was proud of my efficiency in rewears, cruise/sink laundry and capsule wardrobe planning. I really used everything I brought.

We all have great intent when we leave on a trip not to overdo it. I'm an "I want outfit options" person too, but here are a few tips for how to pack for any type of trip and not regret it.

For a full list of the tried and true travel items I take on every trip, comment PACK below and I'll send it to you.

Not every great beach vacation requires a passport and a flight to the Mediterranean. (Although that's nice too!)

If you haven't planned your beach vacation this summer, these are a few beach destinations in the U.S. I think are worth considering. There's New England charm, laid-back Southern coastlines and dramatic West Coast scenery – plus the hotels I’d book in each.

Contact me for special rates and amenities or for even more beach ideas!

The Carolinas are my home, and we're having a moment.

Travel circles have deemed the Carolinas "one of the most underrated summer destinations in the country." I don't know why it's taken so long for us to be "discovered."

We've always done summer right. From the mountains to the cities to the beaches – we have it all. Without a passport or a 10-hour flight. Whatever your type of trip or travelers, the answer is the same: the Carolinas.

You can:

⛱ Spend a week on wild, pristine beaches in the Outer Banks or Wilmington.

🌴 Do Lowcountry luxury at Kiawah Island, Johns Island or Palmetto Bluff.

🍽 Eat your way through Charleston or Greenville — both among America's great food cities.

⚽ See a game, a show, a concert or visit a museum in Charlotte or Raleigh.

🌄 Escape the heat entirely in Highlands, Cashiers, Blowing Rock or Asheville, high up in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I've been to all of them, and I have my favorites. If you've been looking for an easy summer destination full of Southern hospitality, I'm here to help.

(FYI: We do Fall, Spring and Winter well too.)

Still dreaming about our stay on Turks & Caicos ✨

Grace Bay Club has suites with ocean views, chic dining options and peaceful beach setups by the water — it’s luxurious without feeling pretentious. 🌴☀️

The resort is great for couples and families looking to get away. The island is relaxed and has the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen.

We rented a car, and driving was easy (albeit on the left), but Grace Bay Club is in an area walkable to shopping and other dining too.

When you need a true, restful vacation, it’s a perfect slice of paradise!

Last week, I was in Turks & Caicos for a learning retreat with my fellow Pro advisors. We worked and played, and I spent some extra time in the islands scouting resorts for my clients (posts to follow!).

We stayed at , an all inclusive, beachfront luxury family playground. The resort itself is sprawling — rooms are organized in 6 “villages,” each with their own pools and restaurants, but you can easily walk or take a golf cart shuttle between them. There’s a waterpark, 21+ restaurants, 10 pools and amenities galore. Beaches is a partner, so we even met Oscar the Grouch 🗑️!

I think there’s a specific way to do Beaches, and it’s not for everyone. They cater well to families with active kids and parents who want/need a break. It would be great for a multi-gen vacation or family group trip too. The resort and beach are well kept, and Turks & Caicos is just stunning!
