Important Notice for Drivers – CVSA International Roadcheck (May 12–14)
From May 12–14, inspection officers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico will conduct intensive inspections on commercial vehicles and drivers as part of the annual CVSA International Roadcheck.
Inspections will mainly focus on:
Driver Requirements and Documents
Driver’s license and qualifications
Hours of Service and ELD records
Medical certificate
Seat belt use
Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse status
Signs of alcohol or drug impairment
⚠️ Special focus this year: ELD tampering, falsification, or manipulation of Hours of Service records.
Vehicle Condition
Brakes
Tires and wheels
Lights
Suspension and steering
Fuel and exhaust systems
Windshield wipers
Cargo securement
⚠️ Special focus this year: Proper cargo securement.
Improperly secured cargo can cause accidents and place the vehicle out of service.
Important
If serious violations are found, the driver or vehicle may be placed out of service immediately until the issues are corrected.
Vehicles that pass inspection without violations may receive a CVSA decal valid for up to 3 months.
Recommendations
✅ Inspect your truck before driving
✅ Make sure your ELD is working properly
✅ Keep all logs and documents up to date
✅ Secure all cargo properly
✅ Always wear your seat belt
