CargoNet extends our deepest gratitude as we remember Colonel Tracy Trott and his lasting impact on public safety. Colonel Trott was an early supporter of innovation, and his decision to allow the Tennessee Highway Patrol to partner with CargoNet helped open the door for many other agencies to follow. His leadership, vision, and commitment to protecting the citizens of Tennessee set a standard that continues to influence the industry today.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of retired Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Tracy G. Trott.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is mourning the passing of Retired Colonel Tracy Trott. Colonel Trott passed away following a short illness, as he was surrounded by his loved ones.

Colonel Trott dedicated 40 distinguished years of service to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, serving from 1978 until his retirement in 2018. Throughout his career, he exemplified unwavering professionalism, pride, and honor. His leadership, commitment to public safety, and devotion to the men and women of the Tennessee Highway Patrol left a lasting impact on the agency and all who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Widely respected within the law enforcement community both nationally and internationally, Colonel Trott was known for his innovative vision and progressive leadership. His passing leaves a tremendous void within the Trott family, the Tennessee Highway Patrol family, and the broader law enforcement community.

Colonel Trott will forever be remembered as a devoted family man, a trusted friend, a passionate leader who deeply loved the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and a steadfast public servant who dedicated his life to serving the people of Tennessee. His legacy of leadership, integrity, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
