Today, on National Maritime Day, we honor the ACBL Mariners who move America forward.

Every hitch, every mile and every decision carries responsibility. Our Mariners lead with safety, operate with precision and take pride in moving the products Americans depend on every day.

United by purpose. Driven by the American spirit.

We are ACBL. We move America.

We are excited to announce a major expansion of our operations in the Port of Houston, strengthening our industry-leading network and deepening our presence in one of the nation’s most important trade, energy and industrial hubs.

“This investment reflects our increased focus on the Gulf Coast market and the critical role our Houston Operations play in ACBL’s transformation. Continued investment in our liquid business and in the Houston area is central to that strategy.”
— Peter Coxon, CEO

On International Women in Maritime Day, we’re celebrating the women across ACBL who are building careers, leading on the inland waterways, and helping keep our industry moving.

For Gabrielle “Gee” Brandley, that career started with zero towboating experience. She came to ACBL after working as a pipe welder, started as a Deckhand, and is now a Mate.

“I think it’s important for more women to come out here on the river, just to show everyone that we can do it.”

Gee’s story speaks to what this day is all about: opportunity, growth, and the women helping shape the future of maritime.

“I do not regret coming out here. I love it. This was actually what was meant for me.”

Today, we celebrate Gee and the women across ACBL who serve on the river, in the field, and behind the scenes, moving ACBL and our industry forward.

Rich McCarty’s name will now live on at Norton Children’s Hospital through a room dedicated to caring for pediatric patients and their families.

Following a memorial fundraiser, ACBL team members, customers, and Coxon Family Giving came together to support pediatric care in Rich’s memory. Their donation helped name the Rich McCarty Room, a space that will care for children and families during some of their hardest days and greatest times of need.

For Rich’s family, the meaning is deeply personal. During his four-and-a-half-year cancer treatment journey, Rich often thought about children facing the same fear and uncertainty he knew so well. His daughter, Mallory Mankoski, shared that he would often say, “The only thing that could be worse than me having cancer is having a child that had cancer.”

Seeing the room named in his honor made that connection real for his family.

As Mallory shared, “Hopefully all those babies that are in that room and those families can feel the kind of love and support that he gave us. They can feel that too.”

That is what makes this donation such a fitting tribute. Rich’s name is now tied to a place that reflects what he cared about: support, care, and love for families who need it most.

Safe tankering work starts before the job begins.

This week, ACBL Shore Tankermen completed safety training in Houston focused on the practices that support safe, consistent liquid product handling in the field.

The training gave the team time to review expectations, talk through real challenges, and stay aligned on the work that helps them operate safely and continue providing reliable service to customers.

Strong work by our Tankering Operations and Safety teams. Thank you to everyone who helped coordinate the training.
