I know this is late getting out, so we hope you will help us spread the word! We are sending this information to all families through email, posting on our district webpage, and sharing with you here!

Our school nutrition department along with the transportation team works super-hard to plan and organize meal service for students. As you can imagine, doing so when schools transition to distance learning, is quite challenging. THEY HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! No-cost meals to all children 18 and under!

We are offering "curbside pick-up" at all school locations, stationery bus locations in the community, AND we have buses driving through some of our neighborhoods. See the attached information for specific times/locations.

Please help us continue to be able to offer this service by visiting a location near you! We appreciate all of our students and their families.

It is I, Ms. Jynnifer, driver of school bus #60. I am writing this post to let everyone know that I am no longer a driver of Pickens County Schools. I will remain on the substitute list for emergencies, but I have found a new calling. I will miss my bus babies so very much! I have driven for our county for nearly 13 years, and I've loved every minute of it. I will still do my best to make the occasional post on here if I hear about school delays/closings. I am turning this page over to my Good friend Ms. Diane who drives bus # 43. I hope everyone has a great 2020-2021 school year!!

Good afternoon,

Out of an abundance of caution and based on guidance from the Department of Public Health (DPH), Pickens County School District will delay the start of school for both traditional school students and Pickens Virtual Academy students due to recent COVID-19 exposures at Hill City Elementary and a spike in community spread.

School will begin on August 17, 2020, and more details will follow over the next week or so. All Open House activities, extra-curricular activities, and device distributions are postponed.

This updated information will be posted on our district website, page, and through Infinite Campus.

The health and safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.

Summer lunches will NOT be given out this week for the holiday July 4th. We will resume lunches next Monday. And continue Monday and Thursday’s with July 24th being the last day.

School lunches being given out at Hill City Elem from 11:15-11:50 and Hinton Milling 12-12:40! Come see us on Mondays and Thursdays!

This makes me very sad! I feel for all of our students. Especially for our seniors, as this was suppose to be their best year. I miss all of my students!!

Gov. Brian Kemp has directed all grade schools in Georgia to remain closed for the rest of the year.

Remember, our school system has destinations set up around the county from 11:30-12:30 M-F for the next couple of weeks to give our students lunches/breakfasts. Students have to be present at these destinations to receive their meals. All children! Thru 18 years of age!
