Russell County, KY is 100% in the Central Time Zone. This means everything west of Camp Earl Wallace is Central Time. Now I realize a couple of the marinas open and close early, as if they are on Eastern Time, but that is their choice. The rest of the county operates on Central Time.
If you call me before 7:30 am Central Time (8:30 to you), you will likely get voicemail and a return call, simply because I am getting up and around, running errands and driving to my office. I'm usually driving some sort of classic car with the windows down, shifting gears and not going to be worth a darn holding a conversation about a boat lift, etc. LOL.

We are installing TWO brand new 28,000 pound rated Hydrohoist lifts this week, one at Burnside Marina and one at State Dock. They are massive lifts. They have 4 32' tanks, 8 swing arms and 2 control towers.

They are too big to build on the typical trailer, so we build them at the water's edge on the launch ramp and push them into the water to launch.

An unusual Memorial Day Weekend coming up. It's unusual due to the lake water level. We are short about 8" of rain so far this year, so the lake has not filled to summer pool yet. That means when you show up you will see lake levels about like late August levels - think Poker Run type lake level. 42 steps are active at Jamestown, instead of the typical 15 for spring time. This also means there will be some exposed, or nearly exposed obstructions on the water, like Ramsey's Point, White Oak Creek, then end of Low Gap Island and the islands at the mouth of Beaver and Otter Creeks at the main lake.

So, if you brave the incoming rain this weekend, be aware of these possible hazards.

The good news is there is VERY LITTLE DEBRIS, if any. With no rain, nothing on the banks have re-floated. With that being said, it is supposed to start raining Wednesday and continue through Sunday, so this lake level and debris report may change.
