When I was younger, I never imagined that one day I would have a career helping people see the world. Yet here I am, years later, with passports full of stamps and a heart full of gratitude.

🇧🇲 Bermuda Travel Tip: Skip the Taxi and Explore Like a Local! 🌊⛴️🚌

If you’re visiting Bermuda, one of the best ways to get around the island is by using the public buses and ferries. We grabbed a combo transportation pass like these for only $19 per day, and it was an incredible value!

The system is easy to use, the locals were friendly on every bus ride, and the ferry routes offer beautiful views while taking you to different parts of the island.

⚠️ Word of caution: On especially busy cruise days, buses can fill up quickly. You may need to wait for the next bus if one is already full. Be sure to allow extra time and avoid cutting your schedule too close if you have tours or ship departure times to meet.

Public transportation in Bermuda was clean, efficient, and a great way to experience the island beyond the cruise port.

🏓🚢 Pickleball at Sea? Absolutely!

One of the fun surprises on our recent Royal Caribbean cruise was taking a pickleball lesson onboard. Steve and I ended up in what was almost a private lesson while the rest of the group worked with a different instructor, giving us plenty of time to work on our game.

After the lesson, we jumped into a match with Steve’s sister, Cindy, and another passenger, Judy. It was a great time, and I’m happy to report that Judy and I came away with the victory! 🏆😊

Many cruise lines now offer pickleball courts onboard, organized play times, lessons, and even tournaments for those who enjoy a little friendly competition while traveling. It’s a fantastic way to stay active, meet fellow players, and enjoy your favorite sport while exploring new destinations.

If your pickleball club, league, or group has ever talked about taking a trip together, a cruise could be the perfect fit. Imagine spending your days exploring beautiful ports and your sea days on the courts with friends.

Somewhere on the Railway Trail in Bermuda… yep, that’s me stopping to suck in a little air after all those steps climbing up from the very bottom to reach Gibb’s Hill Lighthouse 😂

Even just from the grounds of the lighthouse, the views are absolutely stunning. Then Steve tackled the lighthouse stairs to go even higher while I stayed firmly planted below thanks to my fear of heights 😅

But wow… the views are worth the hike! And honestly, the journey along the Railway Trail was part of the adventure. Much of the trail was shaded, which made for a beautiful walk, a great workout, and even better memories together. ❤️

Of course, if hiking isn’t your thing, you can always book private transportation or a tour to take you right up to the lighthouse too. Bermuda truly has something for everyone! 🇧🇲

One of the most beautiful and peaceful stops while exploring Bermuda was the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity.

Located right in the heart of Hamilton, this stunning Anglican cathedral is filled with incredible architecture, beautiful stained glass windows and so much history. The climb up the tower is absolutely worth it for the amazing views overlooking the city and harbor.

It’s amazing how a place can feel both so grand and so calming at the same time. Whether you are religious or simply appreciate history and architecture, this is definitely a stop worth adding to your Bermuda itinerary.

Right near the famous Crystal Caves is the home of Bermuda’s iconic Rum Swizzle! 🍹

At Swizzle Inn, you can sip on this sweet island favorite made with Goslings Rum while enjoying classic pub-style comfort food that pairs perfectly with the cocktails.

And despite the name, it’s actually not an inn at all — it’s a lively pub and restaurant full of island charm, fun atmosphere, and lots of character. Owner Jay made the experience even better by stopping by tables to chat with guests and make everyone feel welcome.

Is it touristy? Absolutely.
Is it something you should still do while in Bermuda? Also absolutely. 😄🍹🇧🇲
