Grizzly sightings become a lot more common around Jackson Hole this time of year. After months of hibernation, bears spend late spring and early summer roaming the valley in search of food, often near rivers, sage flats, and open meadows like this.
A few wild facts:
• Grizzlies can run up to 35 mph
• Their sense of smell is strong enough to detect food from miles away
• Male grizzlies can roam territories spanning hundreds of square miles across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
One of the many reminders that in Wyoming, wildlife always has the right of way. 🐻
