This week marks the 38th annual National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, recognizing the nearly 3.6 million professional drivers who keep that freight moving.

Every truck shipment we coordinate depends on someone behind the wheel: the early mornings, the weather, the hours-of-service limits, and the judgment calls that never make it into a tracking update.

🚨 Brake Safety Week is underway through August 29.

Inspectors across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are conducting comprehensive brake-system inspections, with added focus this year on brake drums and rotors.

During last year's , 15.1% of the commercial vehicles inspected were placed out of service for brake-related violations. Inspectors also recorded 113 drum and rotor violations, with 39 vehicles placed out of service for those issues.

Brake maintenance is a carrier responsibility, but inspection and safety history also matter when carriers are evaluated over time.

At First Call Logistics, reviewing the safety history behind the carriers moving our customers' freight is part of how we vet carriers.
