Our Summer 2026 intern class is cleared for take off!

This week, we welcomed 24 students representing 14 universities and 17 areas of study to our "city within a city" where they'll lend their time and talents to hands-on projects throughout IND.

Raising the bar, figuratively and literally!

Today we joined community and business leaders to "top out" The Westin Indianapolis International Airport by placing the highest beam on the roof of this new terminal-connected hotel, marking the end of the structural phase of the project.

Just as steel becomes stronger when it’s connected, this project has been strengthened by the partnerships and Hoosier Hospitality each team has brought to the proverbial table. Thank you to CSO Architects, Shiel Sexton Company, Wischermann Partners, The Louderback Group, and the more than 100 local companies who have come together to make this hotel a reality.

Congrats to our Air Service Development Analyst, Sean O'Dell, who was named to this year's Conexus Indiana's Rising 30 Class for his early-career contributions driving Indiana's advanced manufacturing and logistics industry forward. Sean has contributed to air service efforts for numerous new routes and leads our special events flight strategy.

Airtech Parkway East, off Perimeter Rd, reflects the strong, long-standing collaboration between the Town of Plainfield - Government and the IAA and what results when partners have shared goals, shared investment, and a shared commitment to strengthening Central Indiana’s future.

Thank you to the U.S. Economic Development Administration for investing in this project with a $3.8 million grant.

Airport Police Officer Robert Newland Jr. has built his life around one principle: when people need help, you show up. From his work at IND and in the community to his service in the military, he consistently steps into critical moments with calm and leadership. Whether assisting travelers or responding to emergencies, his instinct to serve and connect is constant.

One of our favorite annual traditions is back at IND! In partnership with INARF and Ability Indiana, a pop-up exhibit featuring more than 90 pieces of art by community members with developmental disabilities is on display in Civic Plaza through the end of the month. We believe the creative economy is open to all and the incredible creativity in this exhibit demonstrates why!

Congrats to Holli Harrington, our Sr. Director of Strategic Alliance, on receiving the inaugural Gateway Ambassador award on the court at halftime of the HBCU All-Star Game over the weekend.
