June has been a busy and exciting month at Sorensen Yacht Service! Some of our more interesting service calls have included:
• 62' Viking Princess | DC Charging System | Successfully diagnosed and repaired two devices (a battery charger and an isolator) that had shorted to ground during a catastrophic electrical event. < 3 hours;
• 72' Azimut Flybridge | AC Power Control Panel | Generator #2 unable to power Bus A. Brief evaluation revealed Gen 2's Contactor had intermittent continuity across its L3 Contact, and an auxiliary contact did not change state at all upon engagement. Replacement devices were overnighted, and will be installed today. ~ 4 hours;
• 70' Concordia Sloop | AC Power Control Panel | Breaker tripping on generator main. Faulty breaker (easy one). Part is on order. Also, during the same visit, repaired an inoperable engine kill switch; 2.5 hours so far, and budget one more for part replacement;
• 43' Azimut Atlantic | Charging System | Replaced a control panel and several hundred feet of cabling that had been damaged during an electrical fire (cause of fire previously determined by others: human error [not factory defect]). Two technicians, five days (which commenced on the day we received the call).
Drawing from our deep experience with relay and microprocessor-based control systems, Sorensen Yacht Service expeditiously diagnoses and repairs complicated marine electrical issues. Big problem or little demon, Sorensen Yacht Service sends them packing. Schedule a service call today!
