🇺🇸 Happy Columbus Day! 🇮🇹

Today, we honor the spirit of exploration, courage, determination, and the pursuit of opportunity that helped shape our great nation.

We also recognize the brave men and women of our United States Armed Forces, law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, and all first responders who serve, protect, and sacrifice for our communities every day.

May we never forget the values of hard work, perseverance, freedom, and service that make America great.

Heading into Columbus Day weekend, JLS Express wishes our customers, drivers, and friends a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend!

Whether you’re making deliveries or heading out with family, take your time, give trucks room, and keep your eyes on the road.

A special thank-you to our truck drivers, all law enforcement officers, and all first responders—especially those spending the holiday weekend away from their families to keep our communities safe and our country moving. We appreciate your service and dedication. 🇺🇸

🚛 The future of trucking still needs people.

At JLS Express, we’re exploring how AI-powered trucks and experienced drivers can work together through our TCP Terminal concept: Transfer, Charge, Pilot.

Our vision is straightforward: an autonomous truck handles the highway portion of a trip, then stops at a terminal where a qualified human “truck pilot” takes control of the same tractor-trailer for delivery into cities, customer facilities, and other destinations requiring hands-on expertise.

Think of a harbor pilot guiding a ship into port—applied to trucking.

We envision terminals that support charging, freight operations, and jobs for skilled drivers, veterans, dispatchers, and support staff.

After more than 20 years in trucking, we know technology is only part of the equation. Experience, judgment, and customer service remain essential.

What do you think about a future where AI handles the highway and professional drivers handle the final delivery?

A professional driver should look as dependable as the service he provides.

A clean appearance, proper work clothes and a well-kept truck make a strong first impression at every customer. It shows pride in the job, respect for the people you meet and respect for the trucking industry.

At JLS Express, professionalism isn’t only about delivering freight safely and on time. It’s also about arriving clean, well-dressed and ready to represent the company the right way.

Look professional. Act professional. Drive professional.

Today, on the 25th anniversary of September 11th, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger.

May we never forget the courage, sacrifice, and unity America showed that day—and may we always remember how blessed we are to call this nation home.

God bless our first responders.
God bless our military.
God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸

We hope everyone enjoyed a safe Labor Day weekend. Now let’s get back to work!

Stay safe, enjoy the holiday and remember: America runs on hard work—and trucks.

🚛 SPOT MARKET REALITY CHECK

We keep hearing about trucking companies shutting down, carriers leaving the industry, and capacity coming out of the market.

But here’s the reality:

Fewer trucks alone don’t create higher rates. Demand does.

The spot market is still basic supply and demand. If there are 100 trucks chasing 50 loads, rates stay under pressure. It doesn’t matter how many carriers have already gone out of business.

Rates move when freight demand catches up with — and eventually exceeds — available capacity.

Right now, the bigger issue isn’t simply a shortage of trucks. It’s that there still isn’t enough freight in many markets to create serious competition for available equipment.

When shippers have more loads than trucks available to move them, that’s when the leverage shifts back toward carriers and spot rates start climbing.

Until then, taking more trucks off the road can tighten capacity — but demand is what ultimately moves the market.
