Nussbaum Transportation is announcing a change in leadership. Beginning January 1, 2027, Brent Nussbaum will transition from CEO to Executive Chairman, and Bill Wettstein, currently President, will succeed him as CEO.
Brent has been with Nussbaum for 45 years. He started in the maintenance shop while still in high school, drove a truck in our LTL division, and spent fifteen years in Operations. He returned to Nussbaum in 1997 in Sales and Marketing and was named CEO in 2000. Today, Nussbaum has grown to 640 trucks, 1,800 trailers, and more than 800 employees, operating primarily in the eastern half of the US. As Executive Chairman, Brent will lead the board and remain involved in company activities and industry associations.
Bill has been part of the Nussbaum team for 28 years. He served as CFO before becoming President in 2024, and he knows this company, its people, and its values as well as anyone. Brent has been his mentor throughout those 25 years, and his example of faith, humility, and care for people is the standard Bill will strive to uphold.
Our leadership team is strong and well equipped for the future. Our employee-owners, drivers, technicians, and support team members live out our Mission, Vision, and Values every day, and they are the reason for our success.
Alden Nussbaum began our journey in 1945 and built a company on a foundation of faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Statement of Faith has not changed: we believe God owns this business, and we are just stewards of it for a season.
Alden would often quote, “If you take care of your people, the rest will take care of itself.” We are confident that will continue to happen in every season, no matter what changes.
Please join us in thanking Brent for his 45 years of honoring God through the business and congratulating Bill as he steps into his new role.
