Now,
some terrific news:
21 months since my prostate cancer surgery.
14 months post 40 radiation treatments & hormone therapy.
6 months since my last PSA blood test which was -
according to my radiation oncologist - an 'excellent' 0.006.
Today, my PSA remains at that excellent level of 0.006.
Pre surgery & treatment,
my PSA was at the very elevated & dangerous level of 16.
Dr. Taylor said 'I'll see you in 6 months & after that once a year.'
I expected some scans, so I asked.
He shook his head.
'Your PSA is undetectable.'
me: 'But what if the cancer is somewhere else?'
'If it were, you would have detectable PSA, which you don't.'
So, no scans.
It doesn't get much better than that.
Guys, if you're 40 or older, GET YOUR PSA CHECKED.
It's a blood test that just may save your life.
DON'T shrug this test off.
YOU DO NOT want to go thru what I went thru.
Early detection for prostate cancer is V I T A L .
If you wait you'll wish you didn't.
Make the appointment.
NO EXCUSES.
