Good morning everyone! So last weekend we did not sell much, we actually lost money. So with that being said what would you like to see? What can we bake for you this weekend? We will introduce our lemon sugar scrub and maybe a tallow lotion depending on time. What would you like to try? Name it and we will look into it! This is how I felt all day yesterday after the holiday weekend, was it just me? This is Kylie's youngest cow Forest that has decided she doesn't like walking.

Omg we had a blast at the lake today! We realized how much we miss just doing basic chill days with our favorite people! It was nice to actually have a chill day. I often push to try to get a million things done in a day but days like this make the busy days worth it. Yes I still came home from the lake and did a bunch of things...at 930 pm I am feeding, cleaning, and even sexing some baby rabbits lol. Great news we finally have a Cinnamon liter and we have 4 does and 2 bucks. At most I will keep one of each so some are available and we have worked with transport before. Anyways what made your weekend blessed? Unfortunately we did not make our money back this weekend at the farm stand but we will keep trying. What do you guys what to try next week? What were you doing at 930pm lol? Good night and hope you get to enjoy a short work week!

Good Morning everyone and Happy Memorial Day we are so blessed to spend this day with family and the honor those that served for their country! We recently started a page for our homestead and we are just about to 1k followers so I would love you you guys follow us as well. We have started a farm stand and throughout the year you will see baked goods, canned items, plants, produce, self care items, Macs Share a Story Shed, and who knows what else we will try. So please follow and share our page to stay update with what we are offering for the week. We need local followers and support. My 19 year old daughter is doing the self care and baking items mostly by herself, so come show her some support! Please help her sell out today by stopping in for $3 cupcakes and $2 dipped pretzels & no bake cookies at 4175 N 230 E Howe, IN from 9am-7pm and please not forget to follow and share. These are some photos of our pets you will see posted often on our page.

I keep getting that feeling like we are so crazy behind and then I realized...WE ARE! Last year was a nightmare and we just barely survived somedays, we didn't get to do any extra deep cleaning and organizing of the animals/yard/and even house stuff because we were in the middle of graduation and also doing all the appointments for Mac's and then my cancer diagnosis. Then of course I think it was June we had the tree fall and smash our garage. Way too many issues with that but it still hasn't been rebuilt so everything us still unorganized because of that. Yeah last year we just barely survived, there was no extra time or task. Today felt great as we started to set up the pool, did all sorts of chores for the chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese. Josh and Mac started working on the roof for the goat enclosure while Kylie and I started to deep clean and sanitize rabbit cages. They are not perfect but they are better. I did order this nice cleaning brush that goes on the drill so hoping that speeds up the cleaning process next round. We we able to deep clean 14 our of our 26 cages. We have 4 liters of babies totalling 18 babies with a few moms about to have babies. Yes we would love to sell some! We have a current total of 43 rabbits and there are 9 different breeds. Next weekend we will be pulling rabbits out to figure out who is going to 4H and we will take photos of our different breeds for everyone to see. Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend. We are taking the day off tomorrow to spend time at the beach to swim and kayak! The farmstand will still be opened tom. Photos from our weekend so far.

These attempt at videos never go as planned lol. No idea how many eggs I collected but I did give Mary Poppins some eggs to hatch since I have caught her multiple time the past week sitting in eggs. Our 2 baby ducks and geese have moved outside...and no they were not in my house just the garage to stay warm while young. Anyways lets talk about eggs. I have been told that many people don't realize all the things you can do and the benifits of unwashed chicken eggs. So here are a few fun facts:
#1- Chickens lay eggs outside all year round so that mean below zero temps and even up to 80+ degree temps
-When they lay eggs they don't instantly go into a refrigerator
-They do require to be refrigerated once their bloom (protective coating) is washed away

#2- The bloom is a waxy layer that prevents bacteria entering the egg spores which allows eggs to sit out at room temp for 2-3 weeks

#3- Once the bloom is washed off they require refrigeration. The life of an egg can be about 2-3 months in a refrigerator. We suggest only washing the bloom off prior to use or within one week of use. Waiting to wash the bloom will allow refrigerated eggs to last 2-3 months if needed.

#4- Basic washing instructions are to just wash egg with an egg scrubber (can find on amazon) or a basic sponge. NO SOAP! My egg sponge I only use on eggs though. You don't want egg bacteria on dishes you are washing.

If you forget any of these details our eggs also come with a detailed card that describes proper care for all of our unwashed farm fresh eggs. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.

Side note my video kept messing up because the rain was hitting my phone and pressing buttons. Bloopers in the comments.
