Do you know our country’s highway codes? The answer to this one is true! Even numbers will always run East or West, while odd numbers run North or South. On top of that, major routes ending in 0 span coast-to-coast, while those ending in 5 run border-to-border. For truckers, this numbering system acts as an instant built-in check on the road. Even when relying on truck-specific GPS, knowing the grid helps drivers double-check their direction at a glance, anticipate weather patterns along major corridors, and quickly adjust routes if detours happen.

Turning down a near six-figure load isn’t easy, but when safety is on the line, revenue never comes first. Our flatbed heavy haul division evaluated an 80,000-pound load where the center of gravity was simply too high to transport safely on the selected trailer setup. Our team explored every possible alternative, testing different deck heights, trailer configurations, route options, and permitting requirements, to see if there was a viable way to move it without risk. But when the numbers don’t align with complete safety for our drivers, our customer’s cargo, and the motoring public, the answer has to be no. Saying no to a high-dollar load is a tough business decision, but protecting lives on the road is the only way Palletized operates!
