After a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Owl City Cycles.
To those who supported us over the years—thank you. Every purchase, every bike brought in for service, every kind word, and every recommendation meant more than you’ll ever know. You are the reason we made it this far, and we’ll always be grateful.
This decision didn’t come easily, and it’s one that comes with a heavy heart. We truly believed there was room for a local bike shop built around service, community, and a passion for cycling. While we had an incredible group of loyal customers, there simply wasn’t enough consistent support to make the business sustainable.
Running a small business has never been easy. Rising costs, online competition, and changing shopping habits have made it increasingly difficult for independent businesses to survive. We don’t share this to place blame, but to offer a reminder that every purchase made locally helps keep small businesses alive.
If there’s one thing we hope people take away from our story, it’s this: if you value having local businesses in your community, support them when you can. The coffee shop, the hardware store, the family-owned restaurant, and the specialty shops all rely on the people in their communities. Those choices really do make a difference.
We’re incredibly proud of what Owl City Cycles became. It was never just about selling bikes—it was about helping people discover a new hobby, keeping families riding together, supporting local events, and building friendships along the way.
Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey. We leave with countless memories, lifelong friendships, and immense gratitude for those who believed in us from the very beginning.
With sincere appreciation,
The Owl City Cycles Family
