Are you choosing your response, or reacting to your story?

Something happens.

A client sends an email that feels a little off.
A prospect doesn’t call back.
A team member questions a decision.
A plan doesn’t work out the way you expected.

Those are the circumstances.

But then comes the story.

“They’re upset with me.”
“They don’t trust my leadership.”
“I’m going to lose this client.”
“This isn’t working.”
“I made the wrong choice.”

And suddenly, you’re no longer responding to what actually happened. You’re reacting to what you’ve decided it means.

That distinction matters.

Because when we apply our story to the facts and treat the two as if they’re the same thing, we can lose sight of the choices that are actually available to us.

So the next time you feel yourself reacting, try asking:

What are the facts?
What is the story I’m adding?
And if I separate the two, what would I choose?

That little bit of awareness can change the entire conversation.

08/21/2026

What happened, and what did you make it mean?

There’s a difference between the two, but sometimes that difference can be difficult to see.

Something happens in your business, your family, or a conversation.

That’s the circumstance.

Then your mind immediately begins telling you what that circumstance means.

And because it happens so quickly, the story can feel every bit as factual as what actually occurred.

Let’s explore what that can do to our choices.

If I’m reacting to what I think someone meant, rather than what they actually said, am I responding to the facts?

Or am I responding to my story about the facts?

That distinction matters.

Because when we can separate what happened from what we made it mean, we may discover possibilities that weren’t available when we were reacting to the story.

Try catching yourself this week.

When something triggers an immediate reaction, ask:

“What are the facts here, and what am I adding to them?”

You may be surprised by what you discover.

Are you building the business you wanted, or has your business started running you?

Think back to why you started.

Maybe you wanted more freedom. More flexibility. Financial growth. Greater impact. More time with the people you love. Or simply the opportunity to create something that was yours.

Then the business started growing.

Clients needed you. Decisions piled up. Problems needed solving. There was always something else that had to get done.

And somewhere along the way, it may have started to feel like your business was making more choices for you than you were making for yourself.

Here’s something I’d like you to explore:

How much of the way you run your business today is something you consciously chose?

And how much comes from thoughts like:

“I have to do it this way.”
“There’s no other option.”
“This is just what running a business requires.”

Don’t judge your answers. Just become curious about them.

Because sometimes what feels like the only option is simply the option we’ve stopped questioning.

What’s one thing in your business you believe you “have to” do that might be worth looking at differently?

08/17/2026

What’s the ultimate goal in your business?

You probably want to grow. You want to do well. You want the business to be successful.

But what does successful actually mean to you?

Maybe you want to build something you can eventually sell. Maybe you want to create a great living. Maybe it’s freedom, impact, flexibility or creating something that lasts.

There’s no single answer that every entrepreneur should have.

That’s why I want you to make this an inquiry for yourself:

What am I ultimately building toward—and how will I know when I’ve created it?

When we become consumed by what needs to happen next, it can be surprisingly easy to lose sight of why we started moving in this direction in the first place.

Let’s explore what success really means to you, not what it’s supposed to look like from the outside.

So tell me - what is it that you truly desire?

To Live At Choice is to Choose Without Because.

Read that again.

Most people don't believe they are choosing. They believe they are reacting.

"I can't because..."
"I should because..."
"I have to because..."
"I'm afraid because..."
"I'm waiting because..."

The "because" sounds reasonable. It often sounds responsible. Sometimes it even sounds loving.

Yet every "because" quietly gives your power to something outside of you.

To Live At Choice is something entirely different.

It is not choosing because your circumstances changed.

It is not choosing because someone finally approved of you.

It is not choosing because you feel ready.

It is choosing because it aligns with who you are choosing to be.

That kind of choice is not controlled by yesterday.

It is not determined by fear.

It is not negotiated by circumstances.

It comes from clarity.

It comes from awareness.

When your choices no longer require a "because," they become expressions of who you are rather than reactions to what has happened or fear of what could happen.

That is what it means to Live At Choice.

Love Always, In All Ways.

Belanie Dishong

Every person chooses.
Few recognize the source from which they choose.
To Live At Choice is to choose without because.

Does setting a goal excite you…or immediately put pressure on you?

Most of us have set a goal we didn’t reach.

For entrepreneurs, that can become especially personal. A business goal isn't always just a number on a page. We can begin attaching our confidence, expectations - and even our perception of ourselves - to whether or not we achieve it.

Then the next time we consider setting a bigger goal, all those previous experiences can come right along with us.

But here's the question:

What if not reaching the goal was never really the problem?

Let's explore why our mindset around goals can matter just as much as the goal itself, and why changing the way we think about goals can open us to possibility instead of fear.

What comes up for you when you set a big goal: possibility or pressure?

08/10/2026

Have a few choices that didn’t work out the way you expected caused you to stop trusting yourself?

It can happen so gradually that we don’t even recognize the pattern.

Something doesn’t turn out as planned. We question the choice we made. Then we start questioning the next choice.

Eventually, we hold back because we’re afraid of getting it wrong again.

For an entrepreneur, that can have a profound effect on the way you lead, grow and make decisions in your business.

Your past results don’t have to dictate how confidently you approach your future.

The first step may simply be recognizing the pattern.

Where are you holding back today because of what happened yesterday?

Self-doubt doesn't usually shout. It whispers.

"What if I fail?"
"What if I'm not good enough?"
"What if no one wants what I have to offer?"

If you're an entrepreneur, chances are you've heard those thoughts before.

Here's something to consider...

What if self-doubt isn't really about failure at all?

What if it's showing up because you're about to do something bigger than you've ever done before?

That changes everything.

✨ Growth often begins where doubt gets loud.

Have you experienced self-doubt while building your business? Tell us in the comments.

Let's be honest — back-to-school season is beautiful in theory and absolutely exhausting in reality. 💙

The bedtime battles that stretch way past everyone's patience. The rushed mornings where nothing goes right. The emotional meltdowns that seem to come out of nowhere. The shifting routines that throw the whole family off balance. Sound familiar?

If you're feeling the weight of it all right now, please know this — you are not alone, and what you're experiencing is completely normal.

Here's what makes the real difference though: it's not just about surviving the chaos. It's about how we choose to show up in the middle of it.

When we shift our mindset — even slightly — from "just getting through this" to intentionally creating a calmer, more connected home environment, everything begins to feel more manageable. Not perfect. Not effortless. But genuinely better.

That small internal shift? It changes the energy in your home. It changes how your kids respond. And it changes how you feel at the end of a long day.

At Live At Choice, we believe that empowered parents raise more grounded, resilient families — and it starts with the way we think.

That's why we've put together a free resource, "3 Mindset Shifts to Ease Back-to-School Blues," designed to help you move through this season with more clarity, calm, and connection. Download it today and take that first intentional step.

You've got this — and we're right here with you. 🌿

"Have you ever noticed that you don't look forward to Monday the way you do Saturday?"

It's a simple question...but the answer might reveal more than you think.

Maybe it's the stress.
Maybe it's the pressure.
Maybe it's the conversations you've been avoiding.
Maybe it's the overwhelming to-do list.

The truth is... Monday isn't the problem.

Often, it's the thoughts, emotions, and circumstances we've attached to it.

When we learn to recognize what's really happening underneath the anxiety, we create the opportunity to respond differently instead of simply reacting.

✨ Imagine waking up on Monday with clarity instead of dread.

That's what mindset work is really about.

Ask yourself:
What am I really resisting about Monday?
