Project HappyBelly: Celebrating Tidewater's seafarers on Day of the Seafarer - 25 June

The Day of the Seafarer is an annual observance on June 25th, established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to recognize the critical role seafarers play in global trade and the maritime industry. It aims to raise awareness of their challenges, celebrate their key contributions, and promote better working conditions and welfare for those working at sea.

In 2024, Tidewater proudly launched Project HappyBelly as part of the ongoing The Ripple Project, to commemorate the Day of the Seafarer and honor our exceptional crew on their special day. This global initiative united our teams, both at sea and ashore, across regions, coming together to celebrate our seafarers with delicious food, fun activities and heartfelt appreciation.

In its second edition, Project HappyBelly 2025 encourages Tidewater's seafarers and shore-based personnel alike to mark this special day by sharing creative tributes, enjoying delicious meals and celebrating the recognizing the invaluable contributions of our crew as one united global team.

We are pleased to share that Quintin V. Kneen, President and CEO of Tidewater Inc., will be a featured speaker at the prestigious Marine Money Week on June 18th in New York City.

Quintin will join Robert A. Jensen, Group CEO of Paratus Energy, for a high-level discussion during Global Investor Day, moderated by Gregory Lewis, Managing Director and Energy & Shipping Analyst at BTIG. The session, titled “Oil Services – Finding Deep Value in Today’s Volatile Market,” will offer insightful perspectives on navigating the current challenges and uncovering strategic opportunities within the evolving oil services sector.

Marine Money Week is a leading global event that brings together top industry executives, investors and thought leaders from the maritime and energy finance sectors. The conference fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and strategic dialogue around the future of maritime finance, shipping and offshore energy markets.

World Oceans Day is observed on 8th June each year to heighten awareness about the crucial role that oceans play in sustaining life on earth and to remind people on the importance of protecting and cherishing marine life and the oceans.

This time, we shine the spotlight on one of our very own trailblazers in Tidewater, Captain Victoria Ajinkya LLB (Hons), MA, MSc, CMIOSH Ruth Ajinkya. With an illustrious 11-year journey with the company, Captain Victoria embodies true leadership, strength and passion in every aspect of her work and life. Not only does she navigate ships with precision as a master, she also holds a law degree and two master’s degrees—one in HSE and another in Creative Writing. Beyond her maritime prowess, Captain Victoria is a published author of several novels, with her third one set to launch in October/November. Captain Victoria's story is a testament to the strength and versatility of women in our industry. Her remarkable achievements inspire us to reach for the stars.
